Reddish-Blue 2,513
Wouldn't mind Coentrao. Talented Fullback, if we can convert him into a winger, he'd be a good squad player.

OneMoSalah 8,887
Good utility player, can play LM or DM too as Jose has played him there before at Real.
The only place to be 11,313
Well signing him would be the end of Bertrand's career here, and he'd certainly be a good option against the weaker teams in the league which would give Ashley's ankles a rest. Shaw is probably the long-term option who we could possible get at the end of next season and he could then fight it out with Coentrao if Ashley does indeed retire.Still can't avoid calling this guy Portuguese Zhirkov though. Styles 9,790
This is what I was afraid of regarding Mourinho's return. Jorge Mendes must be pissing himself laughing.
Leif 6,006
Would anyone say he's in the top 5 best left-backs in world football currently? If we were to do some proper scouting research (I mean us on the forum) and looked at every team in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 etc, I think he wouldn't even get into our top 10.When he was at Benfica he was one of those top 5 players. Now he seems to have lost his self-confidence on the pitch and doesn't impose himself on games as much. IF Shaw is not an option however, I see this as our only realistic move for the left back position as he is indeed proven to an extent and has nice hair. milka 3,395
Chelsea are willing to pay 18M euros for Coentrao and make his signing official when Mourinho is announced as the new coach. [Radio marca]
TorontoChelsea 4,064
Would be a good move I think. Bertrand will likely never be good enough to be a regular at Chelsea (yes, it's possible, but teams with ambitions like Chelsea can't afford to wait for the possible especially when that possibility is remote). and Cole will be gone after this year. Coentrao is also versatile which is nice.

Spike 12,049
He is a bit too tan to have blonde hair. He looks a bit twatty. I mean if he dodged the sun for a few months he'd look alright.
Beepu 1,714
I thought people from portugal and spain are naturally tan...ner?(some of em) not as fair as English/French/German etc.Besides who cares what he looks like, doesnt bother me at all. As long as they play well, like Ribery, tevez(dont like him though), heck even benayoun looks like a hobo.
José Mateus 46
I think he is one of the best LB's in the game.If he can straight up again I guess he'll shine. I think that Mourinho and premier league would do him wonders...However I can only hope that he returns where he belongs. Benfica
Pizy 18,984
I'd take him in an instant. Could easily play at LW too.Very good going forward and offers an entirely different threat than Ash or Bertrand.Jose obviously loved him to pay such a big fee for him, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he comes here. Not all of them but a lot do. They are all a bit ashamed of it, really. It's hard not to when 1/3 of Iberia was apart of the Moorish Caliphate for 600 years. Same goes for Southern Italy and bit and parts of South-Eastern Europe with the Ottomons.Look at Pedro and Xavi they look a lot less typical European and more Moorish than the likes of Mata and Iniesta. But in the end it's alright, innit? Doesn't really matter, still the same person.
xPetrCechx 13,578
Coentrao was asked about the prospect of following Mourinho to Chelsea, and he admitted he would not rule it out.“If I leave Real Madrid, I do not close the door to anyone,” he said. NiclasCFC 2,582
I think this actually makes sense if Mourinho does not believe in Bertrand, it kinda reminds me of the 06-07 campaign when José rotated between Bridge and Cole.
