Ryan Fong 2,776
if you think Torres doesn't put effort in then you clearly dont watch him enough, that is actually why the fans at the bridge including myself always support him and chant his name because we know he is struggling but he always works his socks off and puts in a lot of effort.This.Saying he is shit is one thing but saying he is lazy or he doesn't even bother is completely unfair and biased. BleedsBlue 1,549
Torres does not suck.He just does not suit our style and I am sure if he plays for some team like Arsenal,he will score plenty.Probably best if we part ways with the Spaniard in the winter and sign some striker who does not depend solely on service. It is quite ridiculous. Kezman use to work hard and drop deep but he was awful at us. Does that mean we should keep him? Not at all. Torres is here to score. I hope that if you and the other people who like Torres for is work ethic are not the same ones wanting Malouda out because it is horribly contradicting. Malouda works hard but many people don't appreciate this and think he is a crap player. I don't think Torres is awful but he is not good enough to be our no.1 for a whole season. But I find it a concern that in our last 3 matches: Atletico, QPR and Juventus Torres has been a mere spectator. Not good enough for a £50m striker, regardless of how much effort he puts in. Stats 7,142
The real problem is that he is history. He is not good enough anymore, like Owen they were both brilliant at Liverpool but they are not good enough to replicate the same form at any other club
communicate 2,703
I have criticized Torres plenty of times but saying that he is not good at anything is really harsh.Torres is a poacher whose game is all about working the channel and he thrives on quick and fast through ball ( just watch his Liverpool goal highlight, most of them come from quick floating pass ) against 3 men defense, you can find channel mostly on the wingHaving said that, I always think he does not suit the way we play. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Work rate means little to nothing as a striker. Look at Gomez and Berbatov. Torres needs to create his own space and chances. Oscar didn't need any service for his 2nd goal. We need Falcao.
warnie_666 1,081
Torres was against the best defense in the Europe. He was up against 3 CBs. One on 3 is unfair. They completely blocked him out. Our two goals were from outside the box.I would give him two more games to showcase his talent. Look at this: Messi with service = 2004– Barcelona 218 apps (175 goals) Messi without service (the likes of Xavi, Iniesta &co.) = Argentina form 2005– Argentina 73apps (28goals) Don't forget Torres provided several key assists in last year's Champions League (notably Kalou's away goal vs Benfica)
Jype 6,398
It seems more people have now hopped on the bandwagon of the so called 'Torres haters'. After losing the support of the fans I think it's only a matter of time before he fucks off and we can finally move on from this nightmare. Jase 43,479
Whenever he plays, I try to hope for the best that he scores a goal or does something really really useful for the team but ultimately, I have given up on him long time ago. He's just so inconsistent. One minute, he looks interested and the other, totally uninterested. Mentally and psychologically, he is completely wrecked! TheCount 146
Im going to quote myself from another tread, as its still 100% relevant here. Some of the comments here are just retarded,80odd million spent on "passing" "creative" "barca -esch" players and they still cant give torres a ball to save their lives,Deos no one eles see that Torres has to drop back and get the ball himself or he simply wont get the ball?Never seen such a bad and confused midfield and tthose saying put sturridge in now instead? good jesus.Case closed. Internet forums make me sad. couris

Torres was average for more than a year before joining Chelsea, but we all thought it was because he wasn't interested in playing for Liverpool anymore and wanted to move to a bigger club. Turns out this wasn't the case and he had simply become a rather shit player after having a couple of broken seasons where he was injured a lot. Falcao is entirely different. He has been on fire for years now and during that time has proved his worth for two clubs in different countries. DDA 9,937
We as Chelsea fans shouldn't be expected to defend Fernando Torres anymore. We have been behind him from the very minute he signed that contract and I am so very proud of our supporters, I really am. What makes me love this football club is mainly our support and our swag. Chelsea for life! Torres is done here as far as I'm concerned.
Jype 6,398
The problem with Torres is that he is simply not good enough to play for a club like Chelsea anymore. A change of scenery could do him good and who knows, maybe he would start scoring goals once again if he moved to a slightly smaller club where the pressure isn't as bad and that is important because Torres seems to be very a weak player mentally.Only problem is finding a club willing to take him? Atletico is probably the only one that comes to mind and while a Falcao <-> Torres + money swap sounds very good on paper, that kind of deals don't usually happen in real life. I can see Milan or some of the other Italian clubs trying to get him on loan but why on earth would we agree to that?
