He definitely lacks confidence. I'm not giving him an excuse, but it's more of a criticism. He goes into almost every match with little confidence, and his confidence pretty much hits rock bottom 30 minutes into the match unless he scores early on. You can see that he's a much better player when he's confident, but I seriously wonder what it will take for him to bounce back. Probably nothing.

Oh are you serious? look back at this time last year i was one of Torres's biggest backers, i thought with Mata coming in, a full close season off and more settling into London surrounding's he would come good, i was patient through 10 months of shite displays and lack of goals, it wasn't until the Arsenal and Blackburn matches i started to have my doubts.

It amazes me how Torres has to be treated like he's a fucking child. Oh no, do not criticize the mighty Torres or he will lose his confidence again (like he ever had it during his time at Chelsea). I was fully behind him for a year and got ridiculously happy every time he scored one of those rare goals and always thought that maybe the old Torres is finally back. Every time it turned out he was nowhere to be seen and in the next match we saw that same old uninterested and lazy Torres again. If someone dares to criticize the lad, it's always because they are 'haters' who never liked Torres and never because he's been nothing but a huge expensive pile of shit since moving to Chelsea. I was a fan of his for the first 12 months of his Chelsea career, but after that I simply lost faith in him. I didn't start to hate him or anything and because he is still a Chelsea player I always get happy to see him do well, but the amount of praise he gets after such a mediocre performance is unbelievable and that's what makes me want to put some facts to the table. It's not a way to undermine him or anything, but it irritates me to see people celebrating him scoring an offside tap-in like we won the Champions League again.

Why not support every other Chelsea player like that? If any other one of our players comes up with a usual Torres-like utter shit performance, they will get an unreasonable amount of abuse thrown at them but with Torres it's always someone else's fault and the man simply can't do anything wrong. If everyone were to treat all of our players like they do Torres, I wouldn't have any problem here but I hate double standards.

Torres actually creates quite a lot of chances for himself and others. He just doesn't know how to finish. And I don't think most of us expect anything fancy from him. Even if it's just 20 tap-ins a season, it's still 20 goals a season.

But what is a assist. Its a pass which a another player convert into a goal. But what happends if the player doesnt convert that ball into a goal, well then it isnt an assist. Thats what torres is doing right now. It has always been the teams fault that torres doesnt do good in games. But now when the team is playing good and torres still isnt, whose fault is it?

i honestly think i we had any other PERSON as a striker today, we would have scored more goals.

My observation from todays game is that he doesn't want to try and score, cause if he misses he'll get laughed at. instead what he does is nothing and lets the defender kick the ball away so he doesn't lose face.
