Daniel Sturridge

Eh what?

1. Pace

2. Trickery

3. Unpredictability

4. The ability to beat a man

5. Versatility

The question isn't whether or not he has those skills. We know he does. The question is whether ( when) this squad or Chelsea FC benefit from those skills.

Because Sturridge use his pace, trickery ,unpredictability, ability to beat a man and versatility only to get himself in the position to shoot and score , especially around the box.

If he doesn't score, his pace, trickery ,unpredictability, ability to beat a man and versatility are poorly used and frustrating to watch .The fact that he can do better, but he is not willing to, makes it even worse.

So at this rate, he is pretty much usefull only when he scores.

Unfortunately, all of those are useless if he can't make the right decision of what to do in situations during the game. And what pace? What trickery? He has none of those when he all does now is cut inside and shoot! He is so single-minded that every time an opportunity comes around, he will shoot at first sight & most of it are from ridiculous angles!

Daniel Sturridge has the potential to be a very good player but he needs a strong coach to guide him. His overbloated sense of self-worth, and an abnormal crave to get noticed has lead him to making several bad decisions especially in the later part this season and i strongly fear for him with or without RDM at the helm next season. His game time is recent time has been largely due to squad rotation and the dearth of proper winger(s) in the team and if we get those next season, i frankly believe he will spend more time on the bench. Apart from his performance at the beginning of the season, he has consistently made wrong decisions, play for himself rather than the team and stopped many goal scoring chances than he created or scored and thus made him a liability to the team rather than an asset. If a good offer comes in, he should be sold or sent to swansea if Brendan can instill the ethos of teamwork into him. Sadly he will either change his ways and the best he can be or be cast away on the side like many before him. The choice is his to make.

You could say Ben Arfa is the same, but look how well he's doing..

That's because Ben Arfa is a thousand times better.

These last few months Sturridge has been woeful, if he's not going to improve we might as well sell him.

I know, what I meant was being so predictable isn't always so bad.

Also that a pretty bleak view of a young footballer. Of course he'll improve, he's only 22 for christ's sake, people talk of him as if he's a finished product. Like DYC said before, many kids like this go through such dips in form. Welbeck went on one for a while till he struck up this partnership he's got with Rooney. He's shouldn't be allowed to go anywhere in June, unless he's real adamant on leaving. Which I don't think he will be because no top club will assure him of a CF role.
