Eden Hazard

I completely disagree. First, I'm as happy about the Hazard signing as any other Chelsea fan, but we are yet to see how good he really is. Just because he was excellent at Lille does not mean that he will replicate this form here. As for Mata, whenever he was deployed on the left, he ended up playing a more central position leaving the opposition RB to roam as he wishes. On the counter, Mata on the left always passes back because he does not have the pace to beat any fullback.

I've had the chance to watch 15 odd Lille games off my mates hard drive who is a huge fan, and the kid is most definitely better. He controls the game, and has such a huge presence throughout the course. I think a lot of people will be hugely surprised when they watch him. It's as if he is everywhere.

I disagree about Mata defensively. He showed in the Barca match he was more than capable, actually being one of our better ones. I just don't think he had the energy to be doing both with our lack of attacking prowess last season. This season it shouldn't be a problem and he can focus more on both.

It's just my opinion, but I'd rather have our better and quicker player in the middle who can break it open.

many things being said regarding where he will play but i think he will be on the left of the 3 because we already have the number 10 and Hazard is better out wide than Mata is. We needed 2 wide men and Hazard was bought is one of them. If we get Hulk too, then suddenly we have 2 players who can play up front, out wide or behind the striker. In todays football, versatility is huge.

Mata, Hulk and Hazard can all play anywhere. We have Ivanovic who can play CB & RB and Ramires who can play in the defensive roles or attacking. We'll be a very good, unpredictable team next season i hope. It's gonna be interesting! Might take a year tho so i hope any new manager is given at least 3 years to get the best out of the team.

We are one step closer to become the Belgian Express - guess we are trying to gain more publicity in Belgium by signing all there top name players :D

I kid, but awesome to see the club have the same ambition despite not naming a certain person as manager

Apparently he'll be wearing number 17 next season. Huge pressure on him now, after all the number was worn prior to him by the almighty José "Monobrow" Bosingwa.

ill be surprised if he does, 11 more likely but I've seen another person on Twitter say 17

Recently, I read about the Duke of Hazard being compared to that Japanese samurai. Of course, by some Manure fan.

According to the report the Jap dazzled Bundesliga, was inserted as the lone striker in some Samurai Blue matches..etc.

Thus far, Hazard has failed to reach his potential on the international circuit...on & on it goes.

If I may ?

I find it funny to see Hazard being compared to some Japanese samurai buckler though.

Why is it, every time Chelsea signs a player for hefty sum he is compared to some bargain deal of a player ?

Could it be that most of these reporters are envious of Chelsea´s ability to spend vast amount of money ?

I've read it at a Hungarian forum:

Chelsea Youth ‏@chelseayouth

DH says Eden Hazard is Chelsea's "future number 17", hinting he'll take Bosingwa's number.

But it's not official yet. I don't know, is it true or not... :)

I'm, yet again, very worried about buying yet ANOTHER player who IS NOT a winger with intentions of playing him on the wing.

He prefers to be central with the occasional drift out wide; just like Mata.

If they play together and Cole is attacking the left flank, there's acres of space to be exploited.

Hazard started out as a winger if I'm not mistaken so it's no problem. He has the pace and skills to be on the wing.

Watch the game against england on saturday he was everywhere on the pitch even though he was apparantly a ST there.... I think he can play anywhere and if he is on the left he has the backup of ashley cole being there as well meaning he will have the license to roam about wherever he wants whilst linking up with mata who is more central.... Also with him being right footed he will be more adept to cutting inside so he wont have to be an out and out winger.
