Had Man Utd been allowed to get away with kicking Hazard out of the game on national TV you can just imagine what opponents would think. That red sends a clear message but how many refs are that strong? Not many unfortunately. Great performance. That turn in the first half that sent Smalling out of the stadium was breathtaking. Quote "If people are in love with football in this country then they must be in love with Eden Hazard," he explained in his post-match interview, with quotes taken from The Guardian. "But the way, match to match, he's being punished by opponents and not protected by referees … maybe one day we won't have Eden Hazard. "It's one, two, three, four, five, 10 aggressive fouls against him. They kick and kick and kick, and the kid resists. He's a very honest guy in the way he plays but that's another problem." http://www.givemesport.com/534501-eden-hazard-needs-more-protection-from-referees-says-jose-mourinho Then creates a plan to target Hazard. Pizy 18,897
If Hazard approached every single match the way he did that one I wouldn't swap him for anyone but Messi. That's the next step in his development. To have an assassin's mentality. Currently, he'll have a match like that where he's unplayable but then follow it up with a performance where he'll play very passively. Really, really hope the club offer him yet another improved contract this summer to keep him happy and keep his head in London. The only attacking player we have that is irreplaceable. We need at least one more CL season out of him. kellzfresh
Chelsea? 892
This BS is partly why all skilled players prefer Spain and Germany to the EPL.
Unionjack 7,531
When Eden comes out with that face he had last night then you know hes in the mood for a craic. (Its a shame he doesn't get that face on to order) And what results from that mood is moves like the one he puuled on Smalling. Made him look like a hammer chewer! manpe 10,861
Great to see him being protected by the ref. Props to Michael Oliver for having the balls to paint a target on his back (not sure he would have done it at Old Trafford though). And Jose himself ranted a couple of years back how Hazard wasn't protected well enough, now he sends his thugs to kick the shit out of him and when his main thug gets sent off he moans.. again. Whatever, Eden was on a mission to show Pogba and co. exactly how to play football. I also wonder if best ever player Neymar could handle such treatment for 5 straight years without major injuries and hissy fits. I have a feeling he would dive so hard here he would reach the Earth's core. Blue Armour, Mceachran, Unionjack and 1 other

Popular Post! Mceachran 109 Posted March 14, 2017 Popular Post! Share Posted March 14, 2017 If my understanding of Eden is correct, that he's a quiet man who loves his family and just wants to enjoy his football and not get caught up in all the bulllshit we fans do, and so he's likely to enjoy staying at chelsea a long time so long as we remain competitive, then performances like last night will and should earn him the love he deserves from our fans through thick in thin. immense performance last night in spite of all of the targeted attacks. Stomped on ribs, bloodied mouth, stepped on fingers, constantly hacked down, and he didn't change the way he played for a second. Chelsea? 892
We're all worried about signing new players. But the most important thing this window is to keep Eden. He we do that, then it's a successful window for me.

Leif 6,006
A reason to leave is simply the fact most of us fall for 'the grass is greener on the other side'. More fans, louder fans, larger-than-life ego-boosting TV pieces & newspaper articles, more money, better weather/quality of life, play for the same team your idol did which just happens to be the most prestigious team on earth, score more & get kicked less. He'd become a hero, even to fans who don't even support the likes of Madrid. Vs. Become a local hero for Chelsea, which he's done. Um, 'prove he can do it in England', which he's done. So what else do we offer him which others don't? Living in London? One of the biggest falacies in football. London is a shithole compared to its peers. More litter, stabbings & pretentious people than anywhere on earth. Doesn't even provide a healthy amount of sun/Vitamin D, nowhere in the UK does. It's only been a draw in the times of London vs. Manchester vs. Liverpool; days which are gone. What is the indication we're providing a long-term environment he & his family would stay happy with? There are better options than us. He's already one of our best ever players; he's already won the league; he will win the Champions League wherever he goes if anywhere. There's literally no reason to stay here much longer other than 'loyalty' which many are quick to point out doesn't exist anymore beyond Totti, DDR & Terry. Nainggolan is probably the only 'modern' player who so far has displayed 'loyalty' (which won't last much longer surely). Now why are so many players loyal to Rome, even though they aren't as successful as say, Chelsea? Great weather, great food, very vocal & passionate supporters & press. There's a reason we can't attract Nainggolan; there's a reason we failed to attract DDR. We are not the massive draw we were; none of the English clubs are. Whereas other countries have clubs only becoming bigger draws with more rapidly-growing fanbases. Heisenberg and Chelsea?
Blue Armour 4,439
I think Hazard has a bigger connection with Chelsea than most fans realize.., and I think its mostly because of his connection with the last generation of Chelsea players, and appreciation for what they've accomplished here. Joe Cole and Didier Drogba were a big influence on his decision to come here (not discounting our win in the CL the year that he joined). He also looks to get along well with Frank Lampard and JT. When you listen to recent interviews with Lampard and Joe Cole, I think they definitely see him with having great potential to carry their mantle forward for the next generation of Chelsea players. I concur. He's only played for Lille before so I think it's fair to say this clubs means something to him. He's mentioned loving his life in London, has grabbed or kissed the badge more than a few times and has never expressed plans to leave the club. Every time they ask him about links abroad he says he's happy at Chelsea. I'm not saying he's a fan but he's obviously good at Chelsea (as long as the club remain competitive). Hazard turned 26 in January. This is Hazard's fifth season at Chelsea. He's never leaving this summer so that's 17/18 confirmed. I find it hard to imagine him leaving at 27 after six seasons for Chelsea. But it's possible. If he doesn't leave at 28, he'll grow old at Chelsea. All depends on how bad the injury is and how quickly it heals. Belgium has 2 games. the 25th and the 28th but the one on the 28 th is just a friendly so i'd be very suprised if Hazard played that game. He said: "Hazard in the last training felt a bit of a problem in his calf and for this reason I preferred not to risk him." It remains to be seen whether Hazard joins up with the Belgium squad for their upcoming games against Greece and Russia. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/598059/Chelsea-News-Antonio-Conte-Eden-Hazard-injury-update-Stoke-win Mufassir08
