Sky Sports understands that Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal for Porto star Hulk.

And on Hulk, I do believe that there is something very much in the offing...

We have been hearing the same thing now in the last few days but nothing is confirmed or announced yet.

Best to just wait for next week.

I would rather have a full trophy cabinet than sexy football, but I guess that is what Roman will be trying to add to the team. (Anybody gets me). Either way, I love to see Hulk here, absolutely love the beast.

You do know winning with style adds more to the wins?

Winning the double with Carlo was amazing. The way we played, the goals we scored made everything awesome. Some of the best football I seen in the Roman era, and we got a lot of respect for that.

I think Roman wants more of this.

Incredible to remember he started his career in.. Japan!

There are actually quite a lot of Brazilians playing their football in Japan. In fact there is even an official ethnic group of mixed Japenese/Brazilian blood that is recognized in Japan, even for a country that is quite strict on the ethnic boundries.

so you should because he hasn't reached his peak yet, just bursting at the seams to let it out..Hulk style..

if we was buying him when he was younger anyway he only would have been loaned out for years till for a few seasons anyway because there`s that paranoid fear that one bad game from a teenager against top opposition will somehow ruin him when they end up ruining many anyway by holding them back for too long. also hopefully the club aren't like many fans on the internet who seem to totally forget about players coming back from loans when it comes to the transfer market.it`s buy buy buy and totally defeats the object of why we loan out young players.

i wouldn't have personally gone for Hulk after Hazard..great player and everything, just would have given Maric and KDB some game time.Hulk is better i know at this stage.just would have personally given those a crack and spent the money elsewhere. however if we do sign him i will probably be happy because he should be good for us. and i`ll support him of course.

I was just thinking that for a 26-year old player who hasn't reached his peak, perhaps the 40m tag was a bit too much, on paper. Then again who knows? Maybe he'll go on ripping opponents until he's 34.. like that certain legend. Whatever it is yeah would love to see him here with those torpedo ICBM shots. Hulk smash! *off to finding 'shop materials*

Somehow I think there is something wrong with this particular deal. I am not sure about the price tag to start with, and buying players out of their buy-out clauses might put a lot of pressure on them.

I liked the Cahill, Mata and Marin deals - relatively low profile and reasonable money spent.

I will be more than happy though to see some quality players at the Bridge, but I am not sure if really have to dish out 60 million on TWO players...

Really? Seems Porto did very well to recognise him there though, a gamble that paid off for Hulk going there.

I don't rate him a the kind of money being thrown around. How much of a step up from Sturridge is he? We need some real wingers and depth. For this kind of money I'd rather see us get Iker Muniain and a RB.

Hazard, Mata, Marin and Munain are ~ 160-170 cm... Hulk 180 and much stronger... It would be funny to defend the set-pieces against the Stoke...

The reason he's costing as much as he is, is simply because he is one of a kind. He is a match winner. A player that can create something out of nothing, and he will come now that we have signed Hazard.

We'll make another big money move after Hulk and Hazard aswell. Players will see these two and think "I want to play with those."
