I'd prefer Hulk over all those names. Javi Martinez has lots of clubs interested in him aswell meaning the price will rocket up and we wouldn't get him much cheaper if any. Hulk seems to have the hunger for glory and success while creating chances and goals out of nothing. That's what we've been missing aswell, we don't have THAT factor in our team like Real has Ronaldo, Barca has Messi, City has Agüero - Hulk would be THAT guy for us I believe.

Where there is smoke, there is usually fire, so it is likely with all the rumours flying around that Hulk is one of our major transfer targets this summer.

However it is not out of the question that the Porto president is actually telling the truth and no official offers have been made.

The Marin deal came out of the blue, nothing was rumoured about Victor Moses until we made an offer, and the media were also adamant Hazard was on his way to United even after we had won the Champions League. They don't seem to have a genuine idea of what Chelsea are doing. Perhaps Hulk isn't the primary target and whilst the media think otherwise it allows us to focus on our genuine deals without rumours causing other club's interests or inflated transfer fees.

I would actually love us to buy Hulk, but thought I would just put another spin on the current situation.

KDB is likely to go out on loan. Marin is a wildcard, he could light up the Premiership and thrive at a bigger club or he could struggle. And considering his injury problems last season, I wouldn't want to pin our entire hopes on him. Sturridge and Ramires are not natural's in those positions. Yes they can play there and therefore offer us additional options and depth in these positions but not as a first choice. Ramires should be challenging for a CM spot and Sturridge ST.

This only leaves Hazard and Mata, so we need a right sided winger and a world class one to start as first choice.

If Hulk does eventually join, it's probably been said so many times on this forum but, our attacking options are nothing short mouth-watering. Truly remarkable investments from Abramovich, who cares how much they cost - he's absolutely loaded with cash and will provide a good return (trophies,fan base, crowd attendance, jerseys)

United tied them on points, and their team was filled with mediocre players. How many "world class" players do they have? Chelsea can do fine without a 35-40M pound RW. They need to upgrade at striker and need a backup RB and then long-term, need a replacement for Lampard (maybe not until next year though). And you know what, every single buy is a wild card. Marin has no guarantee of success, but neither do Hazard or Hulk. Chelsea spent more than 25M pounds on a player only twice before. Both players were established central strikers playing in top leagues, both were better bets to succeed than either Hazard or Hulk and yet both were horrible flops. You can't have a transfer policy based on being obsessed over one player. Hulk is not worth anything close to 38M. David Silva who was a much more established player who was bought as a RW, cost 24M pounds. Mata cost 23.5M pounds. I am finding this obsession over Hulk incredibly annoying. Chelsea should offer 25-30M max and if Porto won't take it, just go and get someone else.

Also another important point. Its clear that if Ivanovic has to continue here, it has to be as first choice RB. We may be able to get someone better than Bosingwa, but who's going to come here and agree to be backup to Ivanovic? It seems wiser to hang onto Bosingwa as second choice RB.
