Pizy 18,937
Imagine if you had told us just 48 hours ago that we'd be re-signing David Luiz. Everyone would have laughed their heads off and said impossible. I'm still laughing. Blue-in-me-Veins

Pizy 18,937
He'll be eager to prove to the English media that he's not as shit as so many of them think. The howlers he sometimes had will never be completely eliminated, but Conte can hopefully get through to him about cutting down on the risks. robsblubot 3,595
I've changed my opinion on him a couple of times and have finally reached a few conclusions that perhaps showcase how I see him: 1. David Luiz is rarely average: he either stands out as one of the best performers or he has a shocker. Don't fool yourself: he had fantastic performances against us twice! His shockers are rare, but not as rare as they should be though. 2. (because) David is a really stupid player on the pitch: he's either 100% physically and mentally fit in which case he plays his best, or he has a shocker because he can't adapt his game to different conditions (e.g. niggling injury and/or a special opponent with certain characteristics). He's a very technical player - I'd say he's the CB with the most technique in the world by a fair margin. I've seen him play live and his first touch and passing are truly special especially for a CB. He's a terrific passer: short and long. In the end Jose was more right than wrong: David did very well in CM under him and I thought both Brazil and Blanc misused him in that they never attempted to play him there - even in tough away games. Blanc had marquinhos asking for minutes and never (or rarely) used Luiz in midfield say against barcelona in Spain... that's blanc (the other french wenger) . On one hand I dislike this signing because I don't rate him highly enough as a CB. As a rotation player however, he becomes more interesting because of his ability to play in the middle and even cover as a fullback. It really depends on how Conte is going to use him. Any change that can potentially make Mikel play less is a good change in my book as I honestly think Mikel is a team-breaking player - he should never play. Though now I am worried about Chalobah a bit. I'd have preferred a different type of signing, perhaps two specialists (the Marcelo guy and a proper CB), but I guess as a panic buy (yes it was!) Luiz does provide cover we did not have. Emenalo and cia never fail to disappoint. I wish to know how they are rated come end of the season, but I suspect it's more towards money than anything else. AWorriedChelseaFan 151
Happy to have him back here, loved him alot when he used to plays for us back then. Albeit he makes some defensive errors here and there...but hey, no one is immune to those mistakes. 32M is also not a bad price for an experienced defender like Luiz on the current market, me thinks. Â Can't wait to see both Luiz and Kante in action, Swansea can't come soon enough.

milka 3,393
MARTIN KEOWN: Luiz can be the next Terry... he's a leader at the back It looks as though David Luiz has been brought in as the long-term successor to John Terry at Chelsea, and I think it's a very good signing. It was quickly forgotten how influential Luiz had been at Chelsea. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3767683/David-Luiz-John-Terry-Chelsea-s-leader-improve-composure.html Muzchap

Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted September 1, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted September 1, 2016 Mourinho axed, Luiz returns. For me it doesn't get better than this. Relation between Mourinho and Luiz was far from good. I think Jose was the reason why Luiz celebrated against us in that CL game. Luiz even said for french press about Mourinho that "he might be special for you, but not for me". Luiz never looked really happy in french league. Things are normal now: Luiz a Chelsea player, and United with a successful but annoying manager that you would love to defeat. Porthos 35
Whatever one my think about his talent and this signing Can't fault Sideshow Bob with his love for CFC, rather have him than some mercenary who is eyeing his next move or playing half-assed as not to get injured Muzchap, roba3y and oldportblue
Popular Post! Thor 2,717 Posted September 1, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted September 1, 2016 He is better than Cahill and Terry... Some of you are acting as if we downgraded our defence. He is a different type of CB. A flashy one. One with a whole lot of skill. All his mistakes were overblown when he played here, and I'm sure that won't change now that he is here again. His positioning is lazy at times, but he is a tough player along with the fact he is so skilled. He gives us pace up the back as well which is something we needed.  For all the talk of his mistakes, I really don't think he makes any more than someone like Cahill or Kompany in recent years. Blue-in-me-Veins, roba3y, Amblève. and 10 others
LAM09 7,061
Obviously was Conte's first choice, but he's a good addition for a reasonable price, nonetheless. An improvement over Cahill

I think any free kicks we earn around the Man United box will have David asking to take. He'd love to score against Mourinho in a Chelsea shirt. Imagine him scoring a late winner against them.  Muzchap and 11Drogba
KevinAshburner 1,270
 I can already view and visualize those moments if and when David Luiz costs us 3 points or 1 point and makes mistakes and gives away penalties. those who start raging and swearing and arguing with many on here and causing a scene and then getting banned and so just a reminder to many here.  don't forget what I just said. No More raging, swearing, cursing and causing a scene on TalkChelsea or else you will be seeing the TalkChelsea exit door.
Barbara 15,149
There hasn't been as much repercussion here as I expected. I'll have to get over a dislike over his persona, but as long as he performs, I don't care Sent from my SM-J700M using Tapatalk Muzchap
