Still doesn't change that this is a huge failure of a transfer window, and absolutely pathetic. Even with Kante in, and Michy who seems very promising, not getting any proper defenders is such a huge failure. The Portuguese lads here you know, those who actually watch him on consistent basis, regard Joao Mario as one of the most talented mids in Europe. Maybe they should start looking at other leagues. It's a bad position to be in. Either we'll have to overspend or we will get a stop gap player who won't be in the manager's long term plans. He is only 22 years old and shows great potential. But this transfer would make too much sense, that's why he isn't even a option for our board.
