You guys must have seen 0 man u preseason games....

Man U have not looked good in any preseason game. They won all 3, but their general play doesn't reflect the scoreline.

Van Gaal says he wants to play 4-3-3, yet every game he has played 4-2-3-1. Depay has played a n10 every game, young on the left and mata on the right with a carrick-morgan pivot. Watch the barcelona game, their midfield was easily dominated by sergio roberto, busquets, and iniesta. Bastian is already out due to injury and in both games, he has looked generally slow. lost the ball quite a bit as well....

Formations barely mean anything. Under certain circumstances the 4-3-3 looks exactly the same as a 4-3-2-1. The game is a lot more fluid than static formations. Besides, the preseason is a chance for experiments; perhaps LVG wants to make sure there is a backup tactic to his preferred 4-3-3?

SKY all over LvG and United this morning.....clips of LvG being interviewed about X and Y player and still saying his squad isn't right and he wants more.

Smacks of the kid with too much pocket money. Like Brenda at Liverpool, this is one massive season coming up.

Still after a "superstar" signing apparently.

Think he himself ruled out Ronaldo so I wonder who they'll be after. No chance Bayern would sell Müller or their fans would go ballistic and riot. Benitez wants Bale as his key player so I think he can be ruled out for this year at least.

There aren't really that many out there. Reus, maybe?

Whoever they get it'll be possibly the biggest failure and embarrassment ever if they aren't a legitimate title contender. If they don't get within a few points of the winner or don't win it themselves then LvG should resign. If José were given the same funds that they've spent since Sir Alex retired he'd have a squad that would win the PL by 15 points with ease and won the CL again by now.

ROB BEASLEY - Spending sprees are long gone as Abramovich tightens purse strings.
CHELSEA’S hopes of a superstar signing rest on the generosity of billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

If Chelsea really wanted Pedro or any other player, we would try hard to get them. But remember, this isnt FIFA, for a player to come to chelsea, we check how suitable he would be not just on the pitch, but in the dressing room, how likely they are to settle in London and the UK, their personal life, ie not a big night clubber or scandal maker, and of course the 2 big Jose requirements.

1/ their work rate on the pitch and willingness to chip in defensively

2/ their adaptability to other roles\positions

even Hazard has to accept and indeed has accepted these conditions and that is why Jose is so successful, he demands more than flashiness and pure attacking play.

So there are many factors to a transfer, not just playing ability and yes we do get it wrong sometimes, ie Salah, or a player purchased before Jose came in , ie KDB

So for us to get a player is no simple matter, all the conditions must be right and right for Chelsea

What do we want with Callejon? Mourinho confirmed that Traoré is staying, Cuadrado just got a new number so it looks like he is staying too, Willian's position is strong and Moses is promising too. Callejon is a pretty good player but we don't need him. Baba and Stones can come though.

As a starter he can give u 10-15 goals, as a impact sub 5-10 goals.

Moses, Cuadrado and Willian are not killers.

Traore scored many goals but played as striker last season and is still young.

If one of Traore(loan)/Moses/Cuadrado moves out, I'd like him here if we can't get Pedro. (Or another big signing)

Our midfield isn't too strong though, if Matic or Fabregas get injured more then a month we'll be in a world of trouble.

Yup, that's why we're crying for a midfield as Mikel replacement. But with Mikel staying, it seems unlikely we will sign anyone unfortunately. Last season we could survive with almost the same squad, hopefully next season we still could do it.

Mikel is good on the ball and offers the ability of transition that Mourinho needs and wants to see. I would've still preferred us to get another CDM but considering the financial restrictions, we have to make do with Mikel next season. I hope this will also give Mourinho incentive to try out Loftus Cheek and give him a proper run in case Matic or Cesc need a rest.
I also feel like Oscar will have a huge role to play next season. Considering we now have Falcao and Costa and can switch to a 4-4-2, Oscar will hopefully be given the chance to play in a deeper role, something we've been waiting to see for a long time; not too sure about Mourinho's intentions, but it could be a solution.
