That could mean Messi will stay at Barcelona.

However, it's hard to make sense of Barcelona. I know they are skint and it's Aguero but they have just signed another 30+ year old with no resale value and no doubt on a big wage onto an already ageing squad. Add that with the other rumored incomings of Wijnaldum, Depay? It just makes an absolute mess of a squad.

yeah, and they still have some deadwood to offload - Coutinho, Braithwaite, Pjanic

Madrid looking to reappoint Don Carlo

I will be honest, for me, I think now Carlo’s had his time at the top level. Not good enough anymore for a big club with the aspersions Real have.

If they want instant success/impact, they should go for Conte. Not to say Carlo may not do a good job but at the same time, whilst he will be respected, is he really any different from Zidane? He really just lets folk get on with it.

Tbh Zidane leaving just shows his shortcomings as a manager as well for me. They lost Ronaldo a few seasons ago and well  he has more or less threw the towel in after getting the likes of Mendy, Hazard, Militao and Rodrygo in 2019. He won the La Liga and the Supacopa last season sure and also only lost to Atletico by a few points for the title this year but they were always playing catch up on top of Atletico stumbling and bumbling along the way towards the end. You’d think with that squad, they’ve still got plenty to offer and they don’t necessarily need a rebuild but just a few wee changes. A top manager would be able to do that.

Manchester United are willing to take one of two Inter players to cover money owed for Lukaku

https://www.benchwarmers.ie/manchester-united-are-willing-to-take-one-of-two-inter-players-to-cover-money-owed-for-lukaku/229308/

It’s being reported that Manchester United are willing to accept one of two Inter Milan players to settle the debt that the Italian giants still owe the Red Devils for Romelu Lukaku.

According to Metro, Inter Milan still owe Manchester United £43.8million for Romelu Lukaku after he triggered a clause that means the Italians must now pay what’s owed in full.

Part of the original £74million deal included many bonuses and performance related clauses and according to Corriere dello Sport the Belgian has triggered a clause which means Inter must immediately pay the remaining fee of the deal.

According to the Financial Times, Inter Milan are in serious financial problems and the club needs and investment of £142 million in order to take the pressure off the club.

Unfortunately for Manchester United, due to Inter’s financial problems they are unable to finalise their deal so United are willing to accept one of two players as payment.

It’s no secret that Olé Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a centre-back and Slovakian defender Skriniar may be the solution to their problem.

The 26-year-old very nearly left Inter last season but decided to stay with Inter after winning back Antonio Conte’s trust.

Second on the list of potential debt clearers is Lukaku’s current strike partner, 23-year-old Lautaro Martinez.

The 23-year-old is considered one of the most exciting young forwards around and has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past.

So far this season the Argentinian forward has managed to score 13 goals and lay on seven assists meaning the 23-year-old is part of the reason Inter are top of the Serie A table.

No. They were short on money when they first bought Lukaku from United in 2019 and they managed to negotiate a payment plan across multiple years. Remaining payments amount to the 43.8M if the article is to be believed.

Any chance this going through means Lukaku to Tottenham?

Don’t think Lukaku would sign for Conference League team. He was already here when we won PL but didn’t play, at Everton, MU and Inter hardly played in CL. Don’t think if he got offer from both Chelsea and Spuds he would chose the latter for Conte.

If they buy Lukaku, Kane is gone, they waste all money on a downgrade while we avoid the donkey, I say it's absolutely perfect, hope it happens.
