In Spain they move fixtures forward to benefit their clubs in European competitions. Here they do the exact opposite. There are so many televised games its ridiculous. Why are Everton and Fulham 5:30? The last train after Everton to London leaves 20 mins after, Fulham never has been and never will be a meaningful derby unless you are a Fulham fan, Norwich and Southampton on a Sunday for no reason and the annual fucked up Newcastle fixture. Home and away we almost always seem to play Newcastle in a 12:45 or 13:30 kick off, giving absolutely no consideration to fans who have to travel to the other end of the country either the day before or at a stupid time of morning. Typical TV picks giving absolutely no thought to supporters who go to games.

It is definitely a site worth considering and we won't find another site closer to Stamford Bridge. The transport links are better than at Stamford Bridge with West Kensington, West Brompton and Earls Court all nearby. One of the most significant advantages of this site is that it still has the same 'feel' as Stamford Bridge in the areas around the ground, with the high-end housing and leafy streets that I associate with Fulham Road and that part of SW6. Albeit where the ground would be at the moment is a shit estate but that would presumably need to be demolished to make room for the stadium. If Battersea were still available I would take it over this site simply because of how iconic and regenerative it could have been for that part of South-West London but we can still create an amazing stadium on this site as long as we don't let Gourlay and Buck anywhere near the drawing board. To be honest the only thing from the Battersea designs that I would keep would be the single-tier stand behind the goal, the rest was just unimaginative considering it would be built in one of the most iconic buildings in London. Of course this might not happen. We should do everything in our power to make it happen though because once Earls Court is gone as an option we will have to start looking further afield, a lot further. It is a unique opportunity. I expect Fulham and Hammersmith council would bend over backwards to grant us planning permission, despite what has been said because it would be more revenue for the borough and if we don't move here we would most likely be looking at Wandsworth or Kensington and Chelsea. Boris would also be more keen on it than he would have been for us to have Battersea because it is a smaller impact on the area and a site that is not as iconic so there won't be as much of a bidding war. I hate to face reality but we do need to move at some point in the next 10-15 years if we want to compete with the biggest clubs in the world. At first I was skeptical and was supporting the CPO in not selling shares back to the club but it just isn't viable to expand Stamford Bridge. It is my favourite place in the world and no new stadium will ever be the same to me. It won't be Fulham Broadway, Fulham Road, Brompton Cemetery and the countless smaller things that make Stamford Bridge such a special place but if we want to progress to the next level as a club then we have to take advantage of this offer and move.

Simple answer is we wouldn't fill it. We dont have the fanbase and won't for a long time. We have a large international fanbase but in London we are outnumbered by arsenal. Considering we couldn't fill Stamford bridge this season for quite a few games it would be an embarrassment having such a massive stadium we couldn't fill. Europa league we were getting gates of less than 28 000 for example.
