  1. Got to win this and send the pikey boys back to their caravans unhappy. In the meantime, 2 England games that will perfectly demonstrate why we will cruise to the 2014 World Cup...
  2. We were pitiful. From where I was it didn't look like a penalty. Feel quite sorry for west brom really, they defended incredibly well and actually tried to win the game, didn't really time waste much or anything and their fans generally aren't twats like stoke, west ham, villa. Lampard was piss poor, ba didn't do much when he came on. Terry was quite solid, eto'o good. I do find the criticism of cech in the stands today rather tragic, pulled off a super save before their first goal, has kept us in countless games and is not very prone at all to mistakes. Shit happens sometimes. He looked genuinely upset too, unlike some members of the team that dont really care that much when they make a mistake.
  3. We usually stand in the shed upper in the area next to the away fans where I am. It is useful to have a seat at half time but I'd rather pay £15 less for a ticket (if it decreases that much) and not have a seat. Having a seat behind me only bothers me if we are moving around a lot but 10 men went to mow and the bouncy and one step beyond are the only songs where people really physically move. English fans, even where standing is allowed, don't really do synchronized jumping or anything like that like in Germany. A little bit of extra space when celebrating would be nice ideally. Joe I know people do stand in MHL and SL but it would be nice not to have stewards occasionally taking a stand and people complying (happened a lot in MHL in Europa League last year) and having to start stand up if you hate Tottenham to get everyone on their feet again. Being able to stand legally and not having annoying stewards telling you to sit down would be nice.
  4. They post minutes from the meetings on the club website. Do other discussions happen as well?
  5. Can't wear poppies, because some people not originally from Britain who live here don't like it. Just like we shouldn't have England flags out during the World Cup. Absolutely, totally stupid and ridiculous that people think there is something wrong with honouring people who fought for this country.
  6. how would the capacity be reduced? wouldn't we just replace each seat with a standing place that has a seat built into the railing that can be unlocked for european games?
  7. Bullshit. And please don't tell me you think Messi is mediocre
  8. Hate how TV audiences take priority. Think I read somewhere we will have had 1 3PM Saturday away kick off between March 2012 and February 2013. I know audiences in Asia, America etc. take priority but is it really too much to ask that they give just a little bit of consideration? Sunderland v Southampton, 511 km away as a 12:45? Stupid. Us playing Newcastle as an early kick off the last few seasons, again no consideration. 3PM home kick offs are something of a rare treat these days too. The price of following a successful team...
  9. Cech Ivanovic Cahill Terry Cole Ramires Mikel Schurrle Oscar Willian Torres Hazard should be dropped because he has been average for a few games now, Luiz purely for that absolute cop out of a 'tackle' at the weekend. Yes I do select teams with an iron fist.
  10. First train into Hull arrives at 12:19. Game starts 25 minutes later. Cheers BT. Still, could be worse, could be a Southampton fan travelling up to Sunderland for a 12:45 kick off. Yet more consideration given for the fans there by BT.
  11. Where is the pessimism in that statement? Just look at the pre-game thread and the amount of people saying stuff like 'easy win' or 'comfortable 3-0'. It's not like I'm saying we're in crisis or anything or slating the players, I'm just saying that it is common on here as soon as we win 3 or so games in a row some people suddenly think every game will be an easy win.
  12. I don't think we will be able to see how good he really is until he gets a good few games. At the moment he is getting about 10 a season at most including substitute appearances. Cole seems to be irreplaceable. He has had a few mistakes this season and last season but I just don't see him ever being dropped for Bertrand for poor form like other players might be. Some people seem to think the gulf in class between Cole and Bertrand is a lot larger than it actually is. Like I said, he shouldn't be a starter, nor should he play more than Cole at the moment. He is a back up like you said, but surely he deserves to be a back up with a bigger role than his current one.
  13. What more does he have to do to get games? It's obvious Cole isn't the player he was and playing him every game might be a bit too much at his age. Bertrand is better going forward and not much worse defense-wise. I'm not saying Bertrand should be a nailed on starter ahead of Cole but he has shown incredible patience over the last few years and his performances have warranted more than the odd cup appearance or 45 minutes in a game where Cole is injured. He will only get better with more experience and game time.
  14. Maybe today will teach some people not to be so naive when we are on a good run. Just because we have some of the best players in the world, it doesn't mean we don't need to go out and give 100% every time. Well done Newcastle, deserved.
  15. Prepare yourself for the Januzaj wankfest and Man U gaining momentum bollocks over the weekend
  16. Remember, remember we're shit in November
  17. Absolutely disgusting that only Cech and JT go to applaud the 3000 fans who got up at 4am for the 600 mile round trip to the other end of the country. Quite happy to come over when they've played well but when they haven't been at their best they fuck off down the tunnel quicker than you can say Eto'o.
  18. It would definitely improve the atmosphere. Everyone was standing on Tuesday night against Arsenal (although we always stand at away games and our away support is better than our home support) and it was brilliant. We wouldn't be able to increase the actual capacity of Stamford Bridge through it because 1- The traditional safe standing system seen in Germany has an individual seat behind each standing place, so there is no place we could increase the number of seats 2- We don't have enough exits to evacuate more than the current capacity in an emergency Still, it would certainly be better than the current situation of seating. The only way it wouldn't necessarily improve atmosphere is if we get the same situation as the Shed 50 and Shed 100 schemes. (For those that don't know, it was 2 separate schemes a few years back where the most vocal fans in the Shed end were grouped together to improve atmosphere) We might get people who just want to be near or in the standing area because the atmosphere is better but not necessarily contribute anything. This was the case for the FA Cup final in 2010. It is safe. Very safe. If it wasn't safe why is it used in rugby matches, lower league football and right across Europe? People being stood up rather than sat down has absolutely no impact on whether there would be another Ibrox or Hillsborough. Tickets would be sold as they are now- you get an individual standing place- the stand has a set capacity. I think I am right in saying that one of the causes of Hillsborough was too many people were allowed inside that part of the stadium, which wouldn't be able to happen with a set capacity. There was also only one entrance/exit so people couldn't escape. This feature is not legal in modern football stadia. The only way we will get safe standing back is if big clubs back it. Man U have said they will consider it, Aston Villa are working on it, Man City I think said they support it. Unfortunately recent dialogue between the fans forum and club officials states that at this moment we are not supporting it, although this could change with time. The only place I could see us introducing it in the current stadium is the Matthew Harding Lower because it is an appropriate size and has an appropriate C value (This is used to measure sightlines in stadia). Shed lower would be so small it would be pointless and people in the back rows cannot see when everyone stands up as it is. Upper tiers are out of the question because standing is not allowed in these areas in case of a pile forward which would cause people to fall over the first row into the lower tier. We also have agreements with Adidas to display their name on upper tier seats.
  19. I'm just a big fucking cunt. I wish I was as cool as that Mr Spiegel. But poor old me is cursed with the ugliness of body and soul. FML
  20. Not really bothered whether we are home or away, it's just the luck of the draw. Between 2005-2009 we seemed to be at home for just about every FA cup game
  21. Absolutely pissed over their support yesterday. New Mourinho song is brilliant, we never shut up, mugged them off on the tube and way to the ground, covered the area in London's first London's finest stickers. Dicks! The new Mourinho song for those who dont know btw: (to the tune of some Slade song, know the tune but not the name) Fuck off David Moyes Wenger touches boys We got Mourinhoooooo We got Mourinhoooooo
  22. Fuck off Real. Give us Ronaldo, Varane and Benzema and we'll think about it...
