middleoftheshed 388
I think there is enough Chelsea fans in and around London/home counties let alone up and down the country to fill a 60,000 stadium, the trouble is they don`t go to watch Chelsea for one reason or another.Dont know about 60000 every game at this stage but events such as the parades we have had recently show that our fanbase is bigger than the 40000 at home games every week, they just simply can't afford tickets. Prices for league games in particular are outrageous, if I was to give up my ST I doubt I would go to league games at all having to buy tickets every couple of weeks at ~£50. Build it (get the ticket prices right) and they will come.
Symbol123 175
I'm still hoping for the Battersea site, that would really put us over the top.
Rmpr 8,977
^Emirates is dead for over an hour of the gameFans closer to the action like the Bridge now. about 60-65k will be fine but if they can fit in more safely/introduce safe ground-level standing areas, then great!I want a new stadium, but one that respects our history and one that has different prices ranges so everyone has a chance to go to see Chelsea! However, I very much fear it will be a pricey Emirates 2.0... Popular Post! Liquidator 5,176 Posted June 9, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted June 9, 2013 It is definitely a site worth considering and we won't find another site closer to Stamford Bridge. The transport links are better than at Stamford Bridge with West Kensington, West Brompton and Earls Court all nearby. One of the most significant advantages of this site is that it still has the same 'feel' as Stamford Bridge in the areas around the ground, with the high-end housing and leafy streets that I associate with Fulham Road and that part of SW6. Albeit where the ground would be at the moment is a shit estate but that would presumably need to be demolished to make room for the stadium. If Battersea were still available I would take it over this site simply because of how iconic and regenerative it could have been for that part of South-West London but we can still create an amazing stadium on this site as long as we don't let Gourlay and Buck anywhere near the drawing board. To be honest the only thing from the Battersea designs that I would keep would be the single-tier stand behind the goal, the rest was just unimaginative considering it would be built in one of the most iconic buildings in London.Of course this might not happen. We should do everything in our power to make it happen though because once Earls Court is gone as an option we will have to start looking further afield, a lot further. It is a unique opportunity. I expect Fulham and Hammersmith council would bend over backwards to grant us planning permission, despite what has been said because it would be more revenue for the borough and if we don't move here we would most likely be looking at Wandsworth or Kensington and Chelsea. Boris would also be more keen on it than he would have been for us to have Battersea because it is a smaller impact on the area and a site that is not as iconic so there won't be as much of a bidding war.I hate to face reality but we do need to move at some point in the next 10-15 years if we want to compete with the biggest clubs in the world. At first I was skeptical and was supporting the CPO in not selling shares back to the club but it just isn't viable to expand Stamford Bridge. It is my favourite place in the world and no new stadium will ever be the same to me. It won't be Fulham Broadway, Fulham Road, Brompton Cemetery and the countless smaller things that make Stamford Bridge such a special place but if we want to progress to the next level as a club then we have to take advantage of this offer and move. zolayes, Rmpr, CHOULO19 and 4 others
Chelseanw10 8
Any site in west london is a site to consider, especially one so close to the bridge.Earls court was always my first choice, and I HATE the idea of battersea!!!

Hutcho 8,443
It'd a ticket price thing. Make the prices 30 quid each rather than 55 which is generally the cheapest one and I reckon you could fill 80000, as there are loads of people who want to go. Our season ticket waiting list is huge atm. If tickets were 30 quid then it would be much more reasonable and bring in a lot of younger people who generate better atmosphere. Nothing against anyone else. But lots of people are priced out, so half the stadium is corporate types who talk about the game rather than singing. Try getting a song going in the east stand upper and they will look at you like you are ruining their outing. And 110 quid for two tickets not including travel or anything is really steep. And as it is our tickets very rarely get to general sale. So I don't think we would be far off filling it if we were to reduce ticket prices. nono

European night too, although it was nordsjaelland.Just out of curiosity, how long do u have to wait if you're on the waiting list?Well when i was inquiring... All be it a few years ago, I was told that I probably wouldn't be able to get one for a couple of years. Didn't have many points though. So don't know if that effected it, or whether they told me a load of BS.And European nights are much cheaper than premier league. I saw two champions league group stage matches. Nordsjaelland as well and Shakhtar and it was much cheaper. Stoke at home was 57 pounds each. This season in the Matthew Harding.

Chelseanw10 8
Rumours in west london over the last few days is qpr's stadium will be in kensal green on the site where car giant and powerday currently reside, and we are in talks to buy the land where the linford Christie stadium sits and a small bit of land on wormwood scrubs. As I've said before earls court is my first choice by far,but if that can't happen we really are struggling after that.kensal gasworks would probably be my second choice as it's in kensington and CHELSEA but on the downside it is 4 miles from Stamford bridge.White city/scrubs feels too much like qpr country but with them moving away we could stamp our authority on that area.if it is to be white city/scrubs then so be it,at least it is still west london which wouldn't have been the case if we had made that dreadful move to battersea... strong centreback 157
Fuck moving to old oak common which would be the place your reffering to chelseanw10, its a shithole, it would be akin to moving out of the best 5 bed home in a private estate to living in a council block high-rise, you just dont do it.If a nw postcode is seriously on the table id sooner we just took the plunge and move down the a3 to cobham/kingston, atleast they are places we could keep our upmarket heritage intact with. Chelseanw10 8
I wasnt talking about old oak common, qpr look set to have that anyway.wormwood scrubs/linford Christie stadium is south of ooc and is in W12,but while we're on the subject i would rather go to ooc then battersea or down the a3 as u suggest...at least it's still west london. Also this thing about it being like moving from a five bed to a council gaff is nonsense.believe it or not parts of nw10 probably isn't that far behind sw6 in terms of the cost of land, and lets not forget that battersea isn't the nicest place either.
