What kind of loser turns down felix and plays gallagher as captain. Shite coach who peaked at spurs

I remember most on here didn't want Felix for the money quoted, many called him another Havertz (including me) - no set position, no end product. He would be redundant when we already have Nkunku, unfortunately nobody could predict he'd miss half the season. We were screaming out for a proper winger or striker more than for another SS. He may work for Farca but he would have gone to shit at Chelsea like most attackers do.

I said already it when the recruitment was on and Nagelsman dropped off - we laugh off Poch for years as a serial loser in Tottenham and PSG and suddenly started to think he is an elite coach who will transform us. I wanted to be delusional, but I'm starting to lean towards what was obvious from the very beginning.

Roman was passionate, demanding and ruthless leader. Clearlake is just indifferent and impose mediocrity on every level. And Poch seems to fit the general indifference. It's like everybody just shows up but then don't give a toss and just see what will come up.

It's like Arsenal under Kroenke.

They know Chelsea already have a global fanbase. They know people will still turn up for games.

The hard part was already done by Roman.

The pressure to win and keep the clubs name up in lights is no longer there.

Their primary objective this window was to bring down the wage bill. Nothing more.

And if the reports are true, they STILL want to bring it down by another 100m.

And these people won't give a crap about performances, not unless we slip into a full on relegation battle.

So true. They bought a successful brand and arent bothered where the cash comes from. I've never had so many e mails and texts from the club, buy this, buy that enter this competition. What a bag 'o shite.

in a far better team and in a farm worse league.

No I mean when he joined Chelsea in January he went on to score more than anyone else (if I’m not mistaken) not bad for someone with apparently no end product

I'd prefer You weren't right, but I'm afraid You might be.

The only thing, that gives me hope is that when club was sold, Abramovitch supposedly had a lot of say as to whom it will be sold to secure it's development and avoid exactly that and you don't exactly go and fool someone like Abramovitch with your bs. But if it was just a rumor, then lord help us.

Having been sacked from his last two jobs, had been out of work for a year and notoriously hasn't got a history of winning trophies, I was surprised that so many people(especially those in the media) thought Pochettino was a great appointment and that he would do great things at Chelsea.

His record with developing young players and the overhauling he did at Spurs was the major pull I think. And it made sense. In theory. Its just all blown up a bit in everyones face at the moment but when your squad contains over £1bn of players signed in the last 12 months or so, it is to be expected that any manager regardless will have huge huge scrutiny if they don’t get results. But the poor recruitment and squad building strategy has hamstrung him also. And he will be the first person to get called out for bad results.

Oh please… Felix couldn’t buy a goal or a decent performance most games last season. His performances were more frustrating than inspiring yet because hes scored goals against Betis and Antwerp in two hugely one sides games, where the quality difference between both of the sides is staggering, people are making out we made a “huge mistake”. If he hits 15-20 goals this season for Barca ok fair maybe. But lets see. Same with Vlahovic. If they get 15-20 goals. Ok maybe. But until then, still early to say so.

Gallagher as captain I agree on but with the club and Poch seemingly intent on giving the armband to guys who aren’t perhaps as well suited to the role as Thiago is right now to build them up, in a squad that lacks genuine leaders, experience & knowhow, what do folk expect?

Reece may be the main guy from the academy and the biggest talent from there in a while but for me, he shouldn’t be captain when Thiago Silva is in the squad. Chilwell getting more responsibility as someone coming into his prime years though & pretty well experienced now (similarly like Maddison at Spuds with Ange), that I agree with - he should be taking that sort of responsibility and hopefully kicking on.

Or are you going to say Enzo Fernandez (who by the managers account, like Jackson, needs to watch he is disciplined enough to stop picking up cheap yellow cards) should of wore the armband? A guy who has been here all of 5 minutes, barely speaks English (although not overly sure on Silva’s English speaking abilities either) and needs to get his finger out his arse snd start performing again?

Yup thats the managers territory -first to take the hit. As @manpe said though, Fish FC rots from the head down.

Poch thinks the squad is shit. He plays all defense because he believes that, and I think he's right. Like I said many times, it's a U23 Olympic team facing senior players. Just look at who have won and done well (reach semis) in the olympic football vs World Cup. Isn't Aston Villa a better team *right now*? Don't they have better, more experienced players in several key positions? Goalie for ex?

One step is needed to make us a relegation candidate, and that is sacking the manager. Like I wrote elsewhere, I don't agree with all Poch's choices, but I understand why he makes them.

Enzo looks like a club issue: he needs to be dissuaded about moving to a more attacking role. He looks absolutely awful playing there.

Fun thing is the door is closing very quickly. Not even a year ago, despite lack of results and general mess, we were a team where every manager would like to come. Now Potter, Lamps and Poch are more and more exposing the fact, that, contrary to what owners claim, this project is not "exciting" and "full of potential" at all in it's current form, so we'd have to aim for lower tier managers that provide lower tier product until we'll finally become Brighton as per owner's dream and will be ready to start and EXCITING CAMPAIGN for 10th place and Carobao shield as our biggest success of the decade.

yup, it can only be exciting if the squad can be competitive enough to get results, which is clearly not the case.

I do think that with time, a few tweaks, and some players back, the team can improve, but I'm afraid this squad can't compete for any silverware (including cups here).

"we'll finally become Brighton" 😆 that does seem like the goal doesn't it?

I'm watching Atletico vs Real Madrid right now. Both coaches yell and scream at their players in front of the fans in their face in the middle of a game.

I don't see anything like that from Poch. He always looks relaxed.

Potter 2.0 ?

Simeone at Chels would make the kiddies cry and wet the bed daily, lolol

I also prefer a more energetic manager on the sidelines, but it's just style.

Anchelotti is also super chill.

it's almost like they are hedge fund/venture capitalist/private equity yank billionaires who take chainsaws to the work forces of the firms they buy in order to implement austerity regimes from a labour cost standpoint

oh........ wait..................

"We thought Chelsea [was] frankly an asset, a business that was not terribly well managed on the football side, sporting side or promotional side, so meaningful opportunity at the club and we’ll get to it for us, who needed the beachhead to then look at multi clubs. [We] looked at it and we think European sports is probably 20 years behind US sports in terms of sophistication on the commercial side, and sophistication on the data side. [...] These are global assets, global audiences which we think we can certainly help grow.”

Fucking arrogance.
