The Next Manager?

Recommended Posts

I said on BBC Sport London a few months back it would only be a matter of weeks before things on and off the pitch would go south again.

More or less bang on and it's happening right now in front of us. Any gaffer can look good good when things are going well but this blokes credentials will be massively exposed now we are on the downturn.

no way do I see Cesc coming here

same for all my other narrowed down top picks

with one possible exception (from lower down my list)

Abel Ferreira (Palmeiras)

maybe, maybe, but it will be a hard sell with no CL (and maybe not even EL)

and I am sure most here will lose their minds if we hire him anyway, lolol (I absolutely rate him as a manager btw, or I would not list him)

Why we sacked Pochettino? He finished strong that season. One loss in the last 15 PL games. Also good run in both cups.

Maresca qualified for CL, won two titles and beat 3:0 managers majority want here. Flick, Emery and Enrique.

So some fans should be careful what they wish for...

What is the point, the way Blueco seems to be scouting for managers we might end up with a league 1 manager who was brilliant which simply won't cut it.

Also don't think we are going to be CL or UEFL if Rosenoir is to continue till end of season - so that kills any hopes of us having a decent/good manager let alone world class.

Added to all that, we sold players who we deemed not good enough and replaced them with much worse players.

Because he isn’t a YES MAN. He wanted improvements and didn’t want to allow the directors to make decisions with the team selection just like Maresca..

We are absolutely finished under this ownership.

GET HIM OUT!!!!!

He'll be gone by end of the season, seems like they are just waiting for him to finish 6th or 7th with this group of players.

I honestly don't see how we win the next PL games.   The whole team sucks and Reece is out.

But then who will they get next?! The next up and coming championship manager? It wont be anyone decent or who has a history behind them so seems pointless. Unless they can really really see this whole project to someone but anyone eith sense will run

They will always find half decent managers to come in like your Potter, Liam types as these guys could never dream of being the manager of a typical top 4 club like us.  Plenty of those managers out there across Europe but they all have the same problem, they can't handle the pressure of expectations.

Just look at the last two games with Liam.  Throws the tie against PSG by playing Jorgensen in the first leg.  Then we can't do anything against Newcastle's reserve midfield and they literally WALK the ball into our goal with every defender casually jogging back.

I knew this was coming, you could tell after the cup tie with Wrexham, they were down to 10 men and they were creating opportunities.

The problem is, we will never hire a top level manager again, the one that needs to come in and build the spine of the team and get us into that killing mode of being able to win those tight games like a Mourinho (04-05), Conte, Tuchel.

We will never be able to lure away or attract a world class manager who is already at a big club to come here with these owners but we MIGHT be able to convince a top manager who is at a decent sized club and ready for the next step up in their career.

For example, if Villa choke and finish outside of the UCL places I wonder if Emery would be open to coming here?

Top class managers and top class players won't be coming here anytime soon.

This ship has sailed and we are no longer a big pull, players are wanting away, our big players like Enzo are making substantial noises. As it stands the club and team is in the gutter, we have already seen that we will go to the lost property bin for players and loans IE Strasbourg and by selling these so called top players such as Enzo, Caicedo and Cucurella BlueCo will be loving the sort of money they fetch in as they will be replacing them with 30/40M pound little assets and bog average players.

With this will come slipping further down the table and not competing in any way shape or form. Players are not wanting to be here, the management and running of the club is cringe worthy, highlighted by the latest Project Puppet appointment that we all saw coming, and all called it would not work, only they can see positives in it.

My mate who holds a season ticket has now threw it away after last night, the atmosphere is toxic, the players are disjointed and fans are now massively disconnected from the club, it's a fucking shambles.
