Laylabelle 9,536
Like said our amount of losses and wins shouldn't really be level...its a shame we've gone crap and our rivials have got better and better and up they go! We won't be competing for the title for a while unless something changes I dont think he'll get sacked though..get the feeling they're hoping it'll pay off..except it isnt Johnnyeye
Costa19 858
Calm down folks. Potter isnt going anywhere anytime soon. The club have told us so many times recently through The Athletic and their other mouthpieces. He will be here when next season start aswell. Only then they might sack him if we still fail to deliver results..

In no way do we not breach FFP if we fail to compete/finish Top 4 next year. Clearlake will be fucking pissed. Just as his predecessor José Mourinho had done, Grant completed his period as Chelsea manager without losing a single home game in the Premier League. Yes, but it's widely accepted that it was down to the quality of the legendary squad we had and his backroom staff (particularly Steve Clarke and Henk ten Cate). The fact that he didn't manage any major teams before or after Chelsea is evidence to that theory, he was just Roman's friend and that's the only reason he got the job. In terms of shock value when the announcements happened, Grant's was worse coming just after The Special One... I personally remember feeling great anger and grief. In footballing terms however, Potter's is far worse. We don't have a squad anymore that can manage itself. At first, when its still warm they are like 😎 ”oooh patience, ooooh what a couple of signings we done, ooooh next season we gucci” and then when it gets cold they will be like ”brrrrr the fuck did we do?, brrrrr wait who is this Potter?!” 🥶

I thought missing on Europe this year is pretty much a disaster and reduces the transfer ambitions already due to FFP, but twice? We'd be pretty much forced to start from scratch and it will have an impact on us for years. I'm sure they simulated this variant as one of many, but how probable they thought it was? Yeah I think there 2 main disagreements in this thread: One about whether Potter deserved the shot or not--I personally think he has not done enough simple as. The second, is that I don't think some folks here understand, or perhaps don't accept, what Chelsea (club) is these days. I hear folks talking about a long-term project as if Chelsea had the luxury of burning seasons in name of some way of play, of a philosophy, or conducting the business. These are acquired over years and years of consistent decision making. We DID have a DNA as a club under Abramovich. It may not have been the DNA folks wanted, but there was one. Now, think about sponsorships, prize money, the ability to acquire as well as *retain* talent... How can someone think a club like Chelsea isn't *constantly* under pressure to win is beyond me. DDA 9,941
I'm actually seeing a large part of our dumb ass fanbase calling for Mourinho to come back. If that happens... it would be the most backwards move you could make with the investment into youth that has been made. guddy69, manpe, Tomo and 1 other

Popular Post! Pizy 18,952 Posted February 18, 2023 Popular Post! Share Posted February 18, 2023 If there were signs you could point to that ___ is getting better game after game or we were seeing recognizable patterns of play and passing moves that made it clear that Potter’s ideas were being imprinted on the squad I could understand the reluctance to sack him. But we aren’t showing improvement at all week after week. And he doesn’t seem to get angry, annoyed, demonstrative. Nothing. Just a constant blank expression on the sideline and total nonsense cliché’s like “we did well but we’re unlucky and need to get better” in every single presser. You look at Pep, Klopp, Arteta, Ten Hag etc and they are maniacal in their ideas and obsessed. They often scream at their teams from the touchline and direct them if they’re doing something wrong. They get every player on the pitch knowing precisely what their job is. This is what we need. robsblubot, Laylabelle, Johnnyeye and 2 others
Hamilton 2,120
If he would have more experience Kompany would be a possibility, he is the guy who hits the table at half time in a game like today Edited February 18, 2023 by Hamilton Vesper

How can someone think a club like Chelsea isn't *constantly* under pressure to win is beyond me. So what was the DNA? Just look at the coaches and the styles of play we had in the last couple of years. We had Conte, a very emotional manager who tried to motivate the players a lot from the sidelines and had a lot of passion - focussing on pressing and powerful counterattacking, prefering experienced players. Then we went on to Sarri, a rather calm but tactical guy, focussing on positional and combination play with a lot of possession. Then we went on to Lampard, a very inexperienced coach but young and hungry, new generation of coaches, club legend trying to have a bigger bond between manager and fans, trying to implement a lot of youth players. So 3 managers, 3 different types of personality, age and coaching style and 3 different philosophies of who and how to play on the pitch. Thats not a DNA. OneMoSalah 8,886
That interview, about making changes, wow. The guy is just deluded. We were hopelessly and hilariously outplayed by a team who are 20th. The longer Boehly and co back this guy will only be more detrimental to this clubs long term success. Barring a few good January signings their repeated faith in this guy is laughable and makes me very very nervous. How far will they let us fall off the cliff?
