Chelsea Transfers

We are going to get stuck with every single shit player we have

almost no teams want the shit we have to sell, other than for free or ridiculously low money compared to what he could have gotten

and the few decent ones we have, may not be sold because we are asking such high fees in a COVID market

we turned down fair offers on so many in the past, and extraordinary offers for some

and it is now going to bite us in the arse for an insane loss of money

we chucked away damn near £55-60m on Drinkwater alone (counting fees, add-ons, salary minus the little loan fees and little salary pickup we got in return, and he is unsaleable now, he will walk on a free)

You have literally said it so yourself - it's only been a week since the season ended and with Euro 2020 taking place this summer, it's not going to be straightforward or fast to complete a transfer especially if that player is playing at the tournament. Some of the agitation that has been going on around here seems to be down to people's transfer fantasy not happening more than anything else.

I don't disagree that we need some additions but again, compared to past summers or those years you mentioned, the current squad is much better than those back then. We have already got good players coming through the academy and we already spent big last summer. 2-3 new additions needed yes but at the same time, it's also about improving the current group of players that we have, something that Tuchel has already spoken about and is relishing to do.

Getting a new striker may or may not happen for obvious reasons. Spurs won't sell Kane to us. Haaland isn't going anywhere. Lukaku already said he wants to stay at Inter and Inter don't want to sell him, although that could depend if they are able to sell 1-2 others but even then, not everyone seems to think he's good, including you. Other than those 3, there's no one obvious and we would then have to take a risk with someone low key. Either that or we somehow stick with what we have, including Giroud.

For sure, no one should be getting worried about the situation at the moment, as the season has just finished and we as a club are very tight lipped.

My point was more that I do understand why people worry, owing to our previous, and that we do need two first XI players in the shape of a CM and CF. A CM should be achievable, although I do recognise the CF will be tough.

So in a nutshell, no one should worry atm, but the club do need to try their best over the next two months to try and remedy CM and CF (even if CM is the only one that they can sort.)

We can’t persist with Zouma so a CB also.
And back up GK

Yeah, I think Zouma will be gone as he isn't good enough on the ball to play in TT's system. Fortunately, be fits into the easily sold for a decent price category like Tammy (if another CF is found), Ziyech (if we decide to sell) and Tomori.

That said, not too sure about the need for another CB to be brought as we have: Silva, AC, Rudi, Dave and James that can all play CB, while we could also bring back Guehi or Ampadu to pad it out further. For that reason, CB is a position that is much lower in terms of need than it was 6 months ago.

As for a GK2 those are normally easy to pick up. Areola would be my personal choice.

So he's not good enough as a 5th choice CB☹️

We're not going to find a better player who's happy enough being 5th choice, so I don't see the point in selling Zouma at this point.

You would be hard pressed to find any club that would be willing to take a loss on someone that still has 4 years left on the contract.

In Ziyech's case, there's no reliable source that says he wants to leave or the club want to sell him at the moment. For all we know, Tuchel would probably look to get more out of him next season and/or Ziyech himself wants to give it a good go next season. This first season, this past season has not been easy on anyone. Also, trying to sell Ziyech and find a replacement would also give us unwanted problems when we already trying to look for key additions in other areas.

It's about all the players who are not good, not just Ziyech.

The club has two options.

Avoid the financial loss and keep the deadwood and suffer the long-term consequences of doing that.

Or we take the short term hit and bring in better players who can help take the team to another level.

Personally, I think the second option is by far the better one.

Are we not not going for Sancho, really ??

In AM we have:

Mount, Puli, Havertz, Ziyech, CHO and Werner (he can play LWF)

At the moment we have too many numbers here. If we could find buyers for both Ziyech and CHO then maybe we would be but we cannot continuously add to the squad in areas we are stacked. I mean we also have Dross Barkley and RLC on loan who both can play there as well.

Zouma is one of the few players who if we sold wouldn't cause many issues with our squad but at the same time would bring in decent money as a number of clubs would want him.

What needs to be remembered is that we have some serious dregs like:

Drinky, Baka, Batsh*t, RLC, Barkley, Kepa, Baba etc

Who are on serious dollar and cannot be sold owing to their contracts. Those players need to be paid for somehow.

For the obvious deadwoods, sure. I just wouldn't put Ziyech in that group at the moment.

No. His inability to play from the back destroys the fundamental basis of Tuchel’s system.

Rather we go for Lacroix our give Guehi a shot.

Has there even been anything about Ziyech leaving be it (a) he wants to leave or (b) the club want to sell him or (c) a club are interested in him? All I've seen is some folks here wanting the club to sell him.

I can see someone have posted the rumour that's been floating around. Have to take everything with a pinch of salt, but I could certainly see it happening.

Andre Silva looks good

Well if Tammy does get sold and we are serious about Håland but cannot get him until next Summer, I don't think Silva at €35m (his reported buyout) is a bad idea. I mean no, he isn't world class, but I think he would be 'ok' and if we could get Håland the following year he would either be a very good CF2 or we could sell him for a similar amount to his buyout this year (so long as he doesn't bomb.)

Man City linked with Andre Silva also. Wonder if it will be a case of “oh City want him so he must be good” for the doubters beforehand.

I really think he could surprise a lot of people, he has rebuilt his career pretty well after a tough spell at AC Milan.

Borussia Dortmund have placed an £172M asking price on Erling Haaland to try to deter the interest of #Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and Real Madrid this summer.

If this story is true, I'd have said that putting a price on the player can only be intended to encourage interest.
