Hopefully Tuchel makes this work and doesn't get sacked.

We'll potentially have an abundance for wingbacks because it doesn't look like we're moving away from three in the back anytime soon.

For his system to work offensively you need a creative midfielder to drive the ball forward and a number 9 who can hold the ball and pick out passes. Harry Kane is a prototypical 3-4-2-1 striker but too bad those are rare. Lol

I know we all hate him, but Kane would be a monster under the Tuchel system

he is the VERY rare CF who can play all over the pitch to great effect

he and Son (most underrated WC winger on the planet atm, and for years before, IMHO) are pure weapons, they carried Spuds for years

I’ve seen quite a few people around different places worrying about Tuchel getting sacked and leaving us with a bunch of players only suited to 3 at the back. If that happens I’m sure we’d just target the best obtainable manager who knows that system.

Pochettino is currently out of work. If the unthinkable happens this year and we have a meltdown Mourinho season I think we’d get him.

I think the players we've signed or seem to be signing this summer are tactically flexible and shouldn't have issues adapting to a back 4 if required. Perhaps even more so than the players Tuchel inherited. Koulibaly is more suited to a back 4 than Rudiger was and Cucurella similarly would be more suited than Alonso as examples.

Could be the next Bellingham.  Apparently one of the most talented VIlla youth players in quite a while.

Bellingham is only 15 weeks older and FAR more advanced

but yes, the potential to be a good to great player is there

Rice and Bellingham are just SO crucial to my long term vision for us

Rice should have been here YEARS ago, but Marina and our shit scouts insisted he lacked technical skills, which is madness if you just watch him for a few games, he is a special, special player

losing either and the true nightmare, BOTH to other EPL clubs is part of my dystopian outlook should we end up there

these are the top valued CMFs and DMFs ( I removed AMF's, so no ex Chels players like De Bruyne and Musiala, no linked AMFs like Nkunku, Bernardo Silva, or Wirtz) on T-Markt (Foden is NOT a CMF, no idea why they list him there)

also no current Chels players, so no Mount, Havertz, Kovacic, Kante, Jorginho

the ones in bold have been linked to us in the past 3 years

Pedri (we were never truly linked, he is so not leaving Barca)
Jude Bellingham
Declan Rice

Rodri
Joshua Kimmich
Federico Valverde
Sergej Milinković-Savić   (also an AMF)
Nicolò Barella
Leon Goretzka
Gavi
Aurélien Tchouameni
Frenkie de Jong

Wilfred Ndidi  (overrated)
Fabinho
Eduardo Camavinga
Fabián Ruiz (overrated)
Youri Tielemans
Sandro Tonali

Carlos Soler (more of an AMF)
Mikel Merino   (very underrated)

Marcos Llorente

I don’t see anything impressive about this Carney dude. From a trait standpoint nothing really stands out.

I mean obviously he has not played a lot of PL football and youtube highlights can make players look better than they are, but he looks really talented. A physical specimen, excellent close ball control and ability. Reminds me a lot of a prime Paul Pogba and is very agile and quick on the ball too.

Pogba had elite long shots go along with his technical and physical ability. He is 18, he could easily recoup the transfer fee. I think it is a solid signing anyway.

This is a shrewd pickup from West Ham.

we are blasted idiots

could have weeks ago had BOTH LB Cornet AND RB Clauss for £24.25m total wrapped up and their salaries would be low as well

combined 27 goals produced (14 goals and 13 assists, and Cornet's assists would be so much higher here, as Burnley was SHIT)

all but one assist were in their leagues

Fabrizio confirmed TT spoke with Carney and said he will be making an immediate impact in the first team.

Carney was told by AC Milan and Barca that he would be apart of their first teams also.

Just goes to show how sought after he is and TT persuaded him to join us.

Who says he doesn't have pull power?

Carney is the type of signing I've been hoping we would start making again - getting someone clearly talented in early before they cost 60+ mill after making a step up in another club. Of course there is always a possibility that such players may not fulfill their promise, but it is a risk with all developing young players and at least we are looking to build for the future at a low cost which we can probably recuperate if it doesn't work out. And if it does work out, then we got a hell of a player on our hands.
