Vesper 31,142
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steven-gerrard-carney-chukwuemeka-transfer-27642628 The reasons behind Carney Chukwuemeka's surprise move from Aston Villa to Chelsea have already been explained by Steven Gerrard. Chukwuemeka had entered into a long-running contract stand-off with Villa, refusing to sign a new deal. His current contract was set to run out next summer, with Chukwuemeka thought to have been keen to leave in search of more game-time. He has now been granted his wish for an exit, with the Blues set to complete a £20million deal with Villa. The move was announced on Tuesday night, with Chukwuemeka expected to travel to London to agree personal terms and undergo his medical. I know there are reports that other players did the same, however I don’t buy it, or if they did it probably was taking example from what Ronaldo did and following his lead. Depay is a similar type of player that we have been linked to. Players that think they're better than the rest should even be considered. Lukaku was one mistake too many in that regard. Pizy 19,320
If, and that’s big IF we signed De Jong I wonder what the preferred pairing in midfield would be. He and Kova would be the most exciting. He and Kante would be the most secure. He and Jorgi would give us total dominance of possession against just about anyone. Gallagher I assume would then be thought of as a more advanced midfielder who competes and rotates with Mount where he’s more effective anyways. Idk. Just seems a bit too good to be true. Midfield is the most crowded area of our squad and the last place the club would be looking to spunk down €80m.

Does he think he'd get more game time at Chelsea than at Villa?🤦♂️ I bet it had more to do with hard cold cash than game time (+prospect of playing for the best club in the world, of course). Which won't happen unless we use the back four. Playing 3 CMs in the back three leaves us short with the attackers.
