I'd imagine they would only want to sell one. Since Barella doesn't want to leave Italy, Bastoni may well be one of our main targets. Would really prefer Barella though and the only way of making that work out might be keeping our only Italian in Jorginho.

Bastoni is the same as Barella, he does not want to leave Italy, perhaps even more so

Obviously (I have pushed him literally for years and years going back to when he was in Cagliari) I would LOVE to have Barella

but the more viable ones (in terms of possible coming to the Chels and the English game) on Inter who I rate are this handful of players:

CB Milan Skriniar (adjusted better to a back 3 this season, was a monster, and still thrives in a back 2 as well)
LWB Ivan Perisic (on a free, he was their player of the year, 5 goals, 6 assists in the last 2 months of the season)
CF Lautaro Martínez (likely far too expensive when considering what Inter would want, he had 25 goals in only 3293 minutes)
LWB Robin Gosens (25 goals 18 assists over his last two full seasons minutes worth of play, he was injured most of this season with a bad hamstring tear)
DMF Marcelo Brozovic  (Jorginho replacement but he turns 30yo this coming fall, we should have grabbed him ages ago if we truly wanted him, now it is likely too late, and a free transfer is not an option, as he turns 34yo a few months after his brand new (2 months old) contract expires end of June, 2026)

Would Kounde and Skriniar be considered a success? Kounde is much more suited to RWB and James can take it easy at RCB. That leaves LCB to cover(idk if skriniar is left footed but I think they need some ability as a fullback which I know he doesn't have. The only inter players you highlighted that I would consider are the LWBs. I would be so happy with either and with Kounde, we would not have a meltdown mid-season because our WBs got injured.

i would rather have gvardiol than skriniar.

Keep in mind CBs don't reach their full potential till 27ish. Rudiger just reached it. Gvardiol would also block the development of Colwill (who I don't rate that much tbh). So Gvardiol and Kounde are the optimum signings as they can both cover WB if necessary?

Just saw Romano tweet that things are moving quickly with Villa and Diego Carlos. Are they really going to agree to let both of their best CB’s go at once?

Well to be fair, we're letting 4 of our defenders go at once this year 😛

We were hoodwinked by the tories and their trade of plying for votes. We just happened to be unlucky to be the club fully owned by a Russian with links to Putin no less. Club gets sanctioned and we can't renew important contracts.

Sevilla are getting 35m for Carlos and 68m for Kounde if we meet his release clause. I'd say they got a really cool 100m which they will spend less than half of on new CBs. They have a good DoF and recruitment strategy (unlike us).

It seems negotiating not going smoothly with Gavi and Barca, heck of a player.

Would replace Jorgi with him in an instant. I do worry about him adapting to PL like saul (although he was already washed up).

Very different players, he is more of an attacking CM than a CDM. Plus he is only 17, would need time. I think he is more skilled than Pedri.

He needs to be here next year, he has shown more than Trev did while out on loan. We cannot afford another Guehi.

If we sign 2 centre backs to go alongside Silva, Trev and Colwill I'd be happy with that centre back group. Especially if we get a viable second right wing back too as James can fill in at RCB too when required.

Buying Gvardiol who is the exact same profile as Colwill (LCB in a 3, similar age, left footed) would no doubt in my mind signal the end of Colwill at Chelsea. We really can't carrying on making the same mistakes over and over surely.

Signing someone like Koulibaly who can play central CB and LCB in a 3, and also Kounde I guess is the most likely for RCB. Those two and Colwill coming back covers all departures and brings much needed experience. Having Koulibaly who can play in the middle is definitely something we need as we can't rely on Silva to play every game at his age. If this happens I can see Colwill having a similar first season to Reece James' first, with us starting the season with Koulibaly-Silva-Kounde but ending it with Colwill-Koulibaly-Kounde.
