Szalai intrigues me because he seems the sort of player that we would be interested and ultimately make a move on.

Compared to other areas of the pitch our track record during Roman's era with defenders has been overall pretty damn good and in particular we've had some nice success with what seem to have been either budget buys or very much under the radar signings at the back, with the likes of Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Alex, Cahill.

I see potential similarities with this boy. Granted I've only really seen him in a few games for Hungary and international football is not the most ideal measurement in assessing players but at least in Hungary's case during the World Cup and Nations League they've been competitive against some real top teams that they've probably no real right competing against and they've mostly posed a pretty organised defensive unit which he appears to be playing quite a big part of.

When links started with him there was talk of around £15m so I don't think he's someone that would break the bank but he looks a solid player and one that perhaps has another level or two he can go up. It's a tricky situation because if he were bought in he's essentially replacing Rudiger in our current system which are some huge shoes to fill, and we'd all probably want a pretty established player to come in and take that mantle. However there are some players being talked about I'm less keen on and would cost an absolute fortune. He could well be worth a punt in this current market.

I look at him as replacing the woefully dire train wreck that is Malang Sarr (both left footed and both are still pretty young, but here all similarity ends)

It is very hard to gauge players in the Turkish league (he plays for one of the giants, Fenerbahçe)

it is a great watch (not joking at all, plenty of decent, really skilled players, most of the managers play kamikaze football, at least the the top 10 or so teams do, and the fans are fucking BONKERS) but it's also not anywhere near the big 5 level at all

the CB's we have sold or lost on frees lately

Antonio Rüdiger
Andreas Christensen
Kurt Zouma
Fikayo Tomori
Marc Guéhi
Nathan Aké

what we have now, atm

Thiago Silva  (I know it sounds crazy, BUT we may, MAY have him for one or even 2 more seasons after this coming one, as he says he wants to play at top level until he is 40yo (meaning 2024/25 would be his last), like his idol Maldini. I hope that doesn't count Fluminense for those last two years but it may well. I think Thiago has three years left as at least a part-time (after this coming season) big game player.

He missed out on cracking 4000 minutes for topflight competitive club matches by only 23 minutes this past season, which is madness for a 37 year old

3,977 in 2021/22 for Chels alone

WELL over 5000 (probably close to 5200 or so, if you count preseason games and Brasil Senior National Team minutes!!!!!) He had 14 games for Brasil, played all 90 minutes in all but two, so 1119 more minutes right there)

One of the reasons Thiago is still so youthful is that he never really played truly heavy topflight (or any level) minutes until he was 22yo (which is crazy rare for a Brasilian) other than one season when he was 19, and that was only around 2500 minutes). He had horrific tuberculosis that he missed a lot of his younger career from (and he almost lost parts of his lungs, which would have obviously finished his career).

Trevoh Chalobah

Levi Colwill (we all better pray to the old gods he steps up)

then a huge drop off

Ethan Ampadu    (not sold on him at CB)
Xavier Mbuyamba (needs a loan, but theoretically has immense potential, still only 20)
Malang Sarr   (shoot me now, bin him ASAP!!)

This highlights why Tuchel still wants to keep Azpi. Even if the likes of Chalobah kicked on again and Colwill had a breakout season, we are completely reliant currently on Silva staying fit to give that experience to the defence. I know we'll add a defender or two to the squad but it comes back to bringing in the right players rather than just simply making a signing.

An example may be someone like De Ligt. There's been quite a lot of reports of our interest in him but this summer may prove difficult to prise him out of Juventus. Especially when Chiellini has just left they won't want to need to fill multiple holes. But next summer if he hasn't resigned a new contract De Ligt will only have one year left or he may resign with a lower and more attainable release clause at which point he could well be easier to buy. The club and Tuchel may feel that keeping Azpi another year before buying De Ligt is a better option than letting Azpi go this summer and bringing in an alternative defender.

If the club believe De Ligt is better than the alternative then they should wait to make that deal.

Yeah, Sterling for £35m is a fantastic deal. He’s nowhere near over the hill and still has plenty left in the tank despite it feeling as though he’s been around forever. Still dubious that Pep would agree to let him come to us, though.

Lol might as well buy sterling and Jesus , no point worrying about us funding their other moves , they have a bottomless cash supply already

I see similarities with the Alex and Ivanovic deals to be honest bringing players in from weaker leagues but low profile and giving them the chance to adapt and grow as players. To be honest he'd be perfect to buy if Rudiger or Christensen was still here and can sit behind someone for a while and just develop. In our current situation though he would be chucked into the fire immediately which probably wouldn't be ideal but he does seem one of those low risk/high reward possibilities unless Fenerbahce want £25-30m+ for him)

Sterling’s signature move is arriving at the far post over and over again and scoring easy tap-in’s. If we could get Dembele in who puts in fantastic crosses from either side I think Sterling would feast. Think about the delivery from wide areas by Chilly, Reece, and Dembele in to Sterling and Kai.

It's bullshit. Dembele knows he would be a starter here under TT.

He comes across as a problem child this lad.

Can we really be bothered with him wanting away in a year or two to join PSG or another French club!

I mean, even if he does we’d make tens of millions of £ in profit since he’d be coming here on a free. 😄

Wasn't he cleared of all charges?

The victim's attorneys were using the hacked documents as evidence. Documents that had a transcript of Ronaldo's initial interview where he genuinely admitted to raping her before Ronaldo's defense team edited the interview and made him redact a bunch of his statements. Ronaldo's defense team said the hacked documents had falsified the interview and when the victims' attorney's requested them to bring forth the real documents, Ronaldo's defense team denied and the judge favored Ronaldo given those documents were for privileged use only. You can choose to believe either side but the initial interview was far too damning to be made up in my opinion.

Inter will confirm the signing of Romelu Lukaku before Paulo Dybala and will then have to sell Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the main priority for the Inter directors right now is to get the deal for Romelu Lukaku over the line.

He is set to join from Chelsea on a one-year loan deal but the final fee for the loan is yet to be agreed on, although the two clubs do seem to be close.

That is when Inter can then put more effort into the final touches of Paulo Dybala’s move. In order to make sure that they still reduce the wage bill and make money from transfers, Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries will have to be sold to the highest bidders who will likely be PSG and Chelsea.

fuck this shit, like hell if we BUY a player from them after getting the raping on Donkeykaku (watch the ONE YEAR loan deal NOT have an obligation to buy in it for the double assfucking)

and to make it even worse

Skriniar goes to PSG (GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR) (and most reports say only 70m euros ie £60m)

and we pay close to £40m on a RB (Dumfries) who I have never rated anywhere near a Chels buy??????????????????

ffs, I so hope this is all bullshit 🤬

it gets worse

exactly what I feared (long post above laying out domino effect) is perhaps happening

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Inter Have Solid Agreement With Bremer, Will Be Less Than €40M” (less than £34m)

IF we end up spending more on DUMFRIES that Inter does on BREMER, plus no Skriniar and we only loan donkey for one year with no obligation to buy

I am going to blow something up
