I heard that TT would like to sign Lewandowski for 2 years + 1 year option? How reslistic would this be?

I'd be a bit apprehensive due to his age and the recent signings to the Prem from the Bundi but I'm honestly getting to the point I'll take Morata back if the trade off is getting shot of Rom.

The contracts of the 3 captains (Neuer, Müller, Lewandowski) expire in 2023. Talks are set to take place in spring. The tendency with players over 30 is to give them a one-year extension each [@SPORTBILD]

This solution is possible with Neuer and Müller. Both are not pushing to change clubs anymore in their career and have great ties to the club. Lewandowski, however, wants the club to acknowledge him via a new long term contract. He also doesn't want to take a pay cut [@SPORTBILD]

From Bayern's perspective, giving Lewandowski a new long term contract on €24m/year is a risk considering his age [@SPORTBILD]

Zlatan did.

Tbf, Zlatan is a massive fame whore. He couldn’t pass up the idea of going to the ultimate fame whore club Man United where he could be the center of attention.

According to the news posted above, Lewandowski not only wants a multi-year extension, but also the same amount of money. This is indirectly a jump in salary for the FCB, or at least a risk, because the man is 34 for the new season, his contract already runs until 35 and he wants his contract to be extended directly to 37 at the same salary. With his highly professional attitude and style of play, he will play at a high level like Ronaldo or Ibra until the age of 37. His advisor and Lewandowski indicate that other clubs are interested in Lewandowski. It is reported, among other things, that Lukaku doesn't seem to fit TT's vision and it is rumoured that Chelsea are interested in Lewandowski.

We operate in the same way, 1 year contracts for players aged 30 or over. We've bent a little bit in recent years with this, but even then it's only been for 2 years. There's no way we'd be offering a multi year deal for a 35 year old. Thiago Silva has been given one year contracts since he joined.

The only 30+ year old player I can think we've bought fairly recently for a transfer fee is Giroud and he only got an 18 month deal.

We'd be back to square one, then.

If Lewandowski and his advisor insist on a contract extension on these lavish terms, then I would like to know which club is prepared to pay a transfer fee for him and fulfil all his wishes? There was a news that Chelsea can afford Lewandowski thanks to Abramovich.

I guess PSG and Real could pull this kind of deal, because of why not.

Would me a more reasonable direction for him imo. There was a time when he could silence the naysayers and prove himself in PL. Now the risk of flopping and ruining the legend is quite high, while in La Liga, let alone L1, he'll do no problem.

Chelsea, except panic buys time, seems to prefer discount deals, this isn't really one of them.

he is not the answer for now though

more loan army cannon fodder

with the new fifa loan regulations, this is the kind of signign we will be making more often. 18y.o. for  little money who we can loan around for 3 years and then sell. More risky than before tho, cos if we dont manage our tiny senior loan quota properly we will be stuck with them
