This the same Cherki we all were wary off given how notoriously lazy he is?

He's the modern day Ben Afra/Nasri. The talent is there in boatloads, but his application is the issue. Pep might be able to sort that side of his game out & get a De Bruyne replacement in the process.

Anyone who has seen my posts about Sanchez knows I am not a fan. But equally fuck Milan. If I were the board I would just roll into the CWC with our current set of GK's and tell them we'll take Mike next year on a free like Madrid would do.

If they came back I would say £18m but you buy Jorgensen for £17m.

I swear Italian clubs are the most annoying to deal with. This reminds me of dealing with Napoli.

We are partially to blame. How many times have we loaned players to Italian clubs for peanuts with no obligations?

Stop doing business with them unless it's in our favour.

True. But you’d think after we worked smoothly with them with numerous sales recently they’d be willing to make this a smooth process for a player out of contract in a year and has told them in no uncertain terms that he wants out.

I could understand them playing hardball if he had 3 years on his contract or something.

I'm sure Allegri's appointment is playing a part. He probably had hope that working with him again might change his mind. Felix deal should have been enough of an indicator for current management, tbh.

As others have reported, clubs know we have at deadline, and they are trying to take advantage any way possible. If we don't get this done for the CWC, the club should walk away.

Makes me believe the Simon Johnson update.

Just pay the fucking extra few Mill you tight ass wankers.

We know Italian clubs are cheeky bastards with the way they conduct their business. It’s not going to change for our sake.

Maignan update: Sources close to AC Milan now say they want more than £18m that Chelsea bid. Contacts will continue tomorrow morning. (@86_longo)

For sake of the £3-5m more it would likely take to close this deal…

Not too confident? Are we seriously haggling over pennies for a player that is no doubt at the calibre of what we need, in a key position, that we have needed a reliable player in for multiple years….. just because he is over 30 (what other reason would there be)?

Who’d of thought after spending more than £1.5bn, severely overpaying on a huge % of transfers under this ownership group that aren’t or weren’t worth that fee or needed at all, we’d finally go the polar opposite way… un fucking believable 😂

Yeah, haggling over a million here and there for a player that would cost a maximum of just over £20m is unbelievable.

We spent that on the kid from Villa who will never be seen or heard from again, ffs.

I’m starting to believe most if not  a lot of what Johnny Minerals says about this ownership having spent most of their available cash and taking big loans out against the club with high interest rates. All of a sudden we are buying cheaper players and playing hard ball over pennies.

Hard to believe when we have just signed Mamadou Sarr for £12m and have already signed Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo for £62.4m before the summer has even begun.

Not really...

We've spent when we've needed to, and we've learnt a lesson on overspending.

Its literally a tale as old as time - fans complain saying "just pay it", and then when a player we paid above for doesn't work out - "they rinsed us and the ownership doesn't know what they're doing" from fans.

They've literally gone out and signed a striker. Were talking of spending 80 mil more for another. Maignan is a fine enough keeper, but he has one year left and wants to leave. We aren't desperate. You consistetly show you're willing to go over and bend, and you get rinsed over and over.

I'm trying my hardest to give the SD's and owners some leeway here and hope they can actually get this Maignan deal over the line...we aren't talking a 50M gap, we are talking a few million, yet spunking 12M on Sarr, and the two other lads from Portugal plus Delap makes it even more fucking of a piss take if we cannot get this done and will for sure push me over the edge with these people, I'm already at the point of fucking despising them but this will be the end for me.
