Milan 17,997
Can this bloody Caicedo help his cause and hand in a freaking transfer request? I mean, he was given a promise he would be sold in the summer. Now, after rejecting 80m, they claim they expect him to stay. Just do it ffs. robsblubot 3,595
As someone who does not share the conviction that Caicedo is that much of, or is about to become, that key player we need, I too think that at this point just go for it. I mean, evidently my opinion does not matter (nor should it), so it's really about whether the people at the club have that conviction or not. If they do, then they should make it happen and not wait until there is an auction around him. Now, if the conviction isn't absolute, then maybe it's time to be creative, and at the same point make a point which could affect future deals. I think he makes a very young squad even younger. That makes me nervous for the season, but if he's good enough then he's good enough.
Fulham Broadway 17,720
Of course Brighton are going to hold out for their full price, they saw Behdad Eghbali pay Benfica 106.8 million for Enzo, exactly what they demanded xPetrCechx
Duppy Conqueror 1,584
One of Zubimendi,Lavia or Caqueret + One of Kudus or Olise, for less than Brighton might accept for Caicedo. We went in too low with our first bid really (even though it wasn't too low for what is Caicedo's true value) if we fold and Brighton get us to pay 40m above our original offer it's gonna hinder future negotiations and if we had made a higher first offer i think it would have been resolved either way by now. Vegetable 830
So we are paying roughly the same for Brighton's 3rd gk as Arsenal did for Ramsdale, supposedly grossly overpaying? That's some very weird relationship we have with them. Oh wait, Mendy was 24 million Euro too, geez. Edited August 3, 2023 by Vegetable

Tbf, the club is owned by billionaires, so not sure we should really be worrying a whole lot about money. 2 minutes ago, Vegetable said: So we are paying roughly the same for Brighton's 3rd gk as Arsenal did for Ramsdale, supposedly grossly overpaying? He has been their nr. 1 GK for 2 1/2 years, being part of that advancement of Brightons. Even last season he was their nr. 1 GK for the first 22 games before he fell out with De Zerbi. Its not like hes Brightons Bettinelli. Sanchez market value is €22m. Thats the updated value from june. We basically pay what he is worth. Ramsdale was hella expensive considering the circumstances. That guy was at Bournemouth - got relegated. Went to Sheffield the following year - got relegated AGAIN, before going to Arsenal for €28m. A lot of money for someone who got relegated 2 times in a row. manpe and chef

Sanchez, on the other hand, is much more commanding in his area... It's an improvement and could work wonders for the defence, like it did when Mendy first came. I wonder if Poch should be ruthless and put him straight in for Liverpool. Szoboszlai is probably the best player in the league at striking from distance. bluesman2610 1,430
I feel like he’ll give us a better starting platform to play well. I don’t despise this deal because if he’s around for next 2-3 years so we can give Slonina time to properly develop it’s a good deal. Poch has already said Gaga can be a world beater someday so high hopes for the lad. Edited August 3, 2023 by bluesman2610

NikkiCFC 8,516
There's never been world class player from Ecuador. So history and math is not on Caicedo side. What are the odds he is the first one? Valencia is most famous but nothing special. For 100m we should expect prime Kante from day one. Just saying Caicedo is not sure thing like we would like to believe. And this is me, who said back in December that my dream MF is Enzo and Caicedo. enzoforever and Fernando

The lack of a WC CF is why I certainly wouldn't give us a chance of upsetting the odds. 2 hours ago, Vegetable said: So we are paying roughly the same for Brighton's 3rd gk as Arsenal did for Ramsdale, supposedly grossly overpaying?
