Pass. There’s a report that Kolo Muani would cost near 100m and his club anyway want to keep him till 2024 when he will play Euros alongside Mbappe and will likely increase his transfer fee.

Who then? Struggling to think of anyone. Jonathan David?

Giroud was great. Ba was alright as was Eto’o. But then we’ve had plenty of flops when we’ve brought in older strikers. Falcao, Higuain, Auba.

For me the perfect profile is a mid-late 20’s striker. Someone who’s young enough to still grow with the team for years but also experienced enough to perform week in and week out at an elite level.

No more 19-21 year old kids, ffs. Kolo Muani at age 24 fits the bill.

Exactly. Higuain, falcao, Auba came with big expectations but were old, ravaged by injury, long past their prime and unable to reinvent their game after havibg their  physical abilities downgraded. The 2023 version of this would be bringing Icardi.

Giroud on the other hand had always been a smart player , able to adapt his game and never relied on pace. Ba and Remy were experienced and in their prime. We need someone who is in either category. Füllkrug comes to mind, very similar to Giroud, classic  no 9 with good finish and eye for teammate but not with quite the same technique. Not checked up on Zapata and Muriel for a while but both used to be competent. I also noticed Anthony Martials contract is almost up, could be useful.  Calum Wilson in his last year too.

Mauricio Pochettino ‘personally’ blocks Chelsea sensation’s summer exit

Mauricio Pochettino has personally blocked Ian Maatsen from leaving Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has personally blocked Chelsea sensation Ian Maatsen from leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer window, putting Marc Cucurella’s future at the club atrisk.

As per Caught Offside, (h/t Football.London) the Argentine manager wants to examine the 21-year-old’s performance in pre-season before making a decision on his future. If Maatsen remains, he could fight for playing time with the former Brighton & Hove Albion full-back next season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager blocked Maatsen’s potential return to Burnley this summer as the Clarets aim to make the most of their time back in the Premier League It is also understood that if the Dutch player remains at Chelsea, it could hamper Cucurella’s future at the club. The Spaniard is already linked with a move away after a poor debut season in Blue.

Given that the Blues already have Ben Chilwell and Cucurella, Maatsen, who experienced a significant advance period at Burnley will add significant depth to the position. Pochettino clearly has every reason to look at every player at his disposal before making a decision.

Lewis Hall could also be another option at left-back. However, should Maatsen end up staying, he could struggle to break into the first XI, even for cup games. What exactly this means to the senior players on the roster remains to be seen.

After convincing at Burley under Vincent Kompany, Maatsen deserves a chance to stay at Chelsea. However, that will largely depend on how well he performs during the pre-season. If Pochettino sticks with his choice to keep the Dutch full-back, Cucurella will undoubtedly have a volatile future at Chelsea given how difficult it will be to distribute playing time among four left-backs.

Cucu should be try at DM if he can't be sold.

I would at least like to see how he handles himself in that role.

God please no, his ability to inflict damage is 10x there, I would pick Santos, Colwill, Reece James, Hall, shit even Thiago Silva ahead of Cucu in DM, just please god no

There is no option I'd take a punt on in the market. I'm open to going into the season with what we have. We were at the same point before the Lukaku signing.

PSG keeping tabs on Vlahovic  and also the Napoli president saying the only team who can afford Mbappe is PSG and if the president wants to talk then £200M

We can use all the money we got from selling players to get Mbappe 😎

Yeah, at this exact moment in time I really feel like Poch will try Nkunku up top to start the season with Jackson as his rotation. Which I wouldn’t mind trying so long as we sign a creative #10 behind him to connect the midfield and attack. Because having Nkunku isolated up top without that would be a waste.

——————————-Nkunku—————————-

Mudryk———————new #10———————Sterling

That could be really dynamic and score plenty. Cherki, Wirtz, whoever. Dybala could slot right in that spot. I’d rather try that than spend £70m on Vlahović.

He might do it, with a good coach like Poch he might get his time to shine.

Let's hope and thus we avoid spending cash on this position.

Gallagher would arguably be Poch's biggest assignment. With Mudryk, Jackson, Broja, and Madueke, the raw talent is there. With Gallagher, he'd have to absolutely fine tune every element of his game.

At best Gallagher could be our Park ji Sung.
