He was reportedly also a United target as a De Jong alternative along with Fabian Ruiz who is now about to move to PSG. Their options are disappearing rapidly so I expect them to get totally desperate now and offer literally whatever sort of wages it takes to get him.

We’re getting all these super high earners and unwanted players off our books but only on loan. Lukaku, Werner, Kepa, CHO. Is this going to bite us in the ass next summer when they all return and the clubs loaning them decide against taking up any buy options they have?
