I cannot believe we missed out on BOTH, ffs RW is a fairly weak global position, especially left-footers after Salah, Foden, Saka, and Bernardo Silva (who is a MFer as well) all 4 of whom are are left footers, there is a large drop off in RWers overall, down to the injured (if he fully recovers he joins the top group) Chiesa (who is a right footer anyway and often plays on the left) and then true RWers Raphinha (left footer, who can also become truly elite) and Moussa Diaby (left footer, same as Raphinha) and Jarrod Bowen (perhaps eleite), then 3 more right footers, Gnabry, Coman, and Rodrygo the ONLY remotely decent left footed (or ambipedal) wingers (not just RW) out there atm are (RWers in bold. and there are, atm only 6 elite left footed RWers out there, plus the ambipedal Dembele) the ones in red are players I would take (I am listing many who are not even available, like Son and Salah, etc) (I am not even bothering with Messi on the list) Mohamed Salah Phil Foden Bukayo Saka Bernardo Silva can play almost anywhere in MF (other than DMF) or on either wing Moussa Diaby Mikel Oyarzabal plays majority at LW (bad knee injury, not available until summer 2023) Leroy Sané plays majority at LW Raphinha grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Jarrod Bowen Dejan Kulusevski Riyad Mahrez big dropoff Marco Asensio Antony Domenico Berardi Nicolò Zaniolo Pedro Neto plays majority at LW Charles De Ketelaere Filip Kostic plays majority at LW/LWB Michael Olise Thomas Lemar Nicolás González plays either wing Leon Bailey plays majority at LW Viktor Tsygankov Pablo Sarabia Maxwel Cornet plays majority at LW and LWB grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Noni Madueke Bryan Mbeumo Romain Faivre Tetê Malcom David Neres Francisco Trincão Samuel Chukwueze Dwight McNeil plays majority at LW Kayky Luiz Henrique Ángel Di María Giovani 18yo Palmeiras and 5 ambipedal wingers Heung-min Son plays majority at LW Ousmane Dembélé grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Rayan Cherki 18, very soon 19yo youth on Lyon, has a BIT of Eden Hazard about him Lucas Ocampos plays majority at LW Khvicha Kvaratskhelia plays majority at LW 21yo just joined Napoli or would be red Rayan Cherki Edited August 8, 2022 by Vesper Blues11

They don't have the same space and leave the width to the wingbacks so you don't have as many chances to take players one on one. Wish we were more diverse offensively depending on the situation and opponent. Sterling has experience playing centrally so that was a great pickup. Doesn't look like anything will change so we really need a striker before anything else in attack.

Havertz, Broja, Sterling, Mount, Pulisic and one more is fine for depth. If really needed, Gallagher or Carney can play in the front three as well. Last couple of seasons the squad's been too bloated so trimming it to a more healthy level of competition is not a bad thing IMO.

Never was that big a fan when previously linked to him but after seeing all these expensive big name attacking signings from other leagues not being all that great (Lukaku, Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech) and our own Hudson-Odoi not developing as much as we'd hoped I wouldn't necessarily say no to Zaha anymore. He's a PL proven player who averages around 15 G+A in the league per season and can play any position in the front three. Not a world class player by any means but would improve the squad and for me definitely a better punt than someone like Depay or Aubameyang. The forward market is really dry at the moment, as proved by United's pursuit of Arnautovic. Zaha's contract at Palace runs out in 2023 so maybe he'd be available at a decent price too? Before his failed Man Utd stint (age 20 btw) he had only ever played for Palace in the Championship where he scored 6 league goals a season. Since going back to Palace he's played 8 years in the PL and aside from a blip in form in 2019/20 he's been very consistent with his level for a long time, averaging around 10 non-penalty goals a season for the last 5-6 years. If that's not 'reaching his previous form' I really don't know what is. Like I said in my previous reply I'm under no illusion Zaha's a top class player but he's still a good one. I wouldn't pay a big fee for him but if available on a reasonable deal I wouldn't say no. Vesper, bigbluewillie and Stats 1 1

chelsea_4_eva 1,186
Sometimes with Zaha for me is that you can tell what kind of game he's going to have by the first 25 minutes, kinda like a mood player. Sometimes when he starts a game poorly he seems to not bother/try for the rest of the match. Also opponents get under his skin way too easily, he seems to always be having a go at somebody. Vesper 31,143
We need a RWer, preferably a lefty, and a CF hardly any left at either position who meet my test of quality we may have to do a dumpster dive of desperation, arrrffff Only RWers I really rate that we have a shot at atm are Jarrod Bowen left footer Moussa Diaby left footer Leroy Sané left footer plays either wing, but huge salary and doesn't want to really leave Kingsley Coman, exact same as Sane Rayan Cherki ambipedal (soon 19yo youth from Lyon) dice roll IF we expect him to step in and play huge minutes, but has a huge upside Bernardo Silva can play there, but doubt Citeh would sell him to us Rafael Leão is a LWer, right footed, crazy expensive, almost never plays on the RW, so he is a pass atm Bonus and the CF Arnaut Danjuma who is a CF (my 2nd choice remaining after Osimhen) but also plays either wing, downsude for him as a winger, he is a right footer, and plays more on the LW Edited August 8, 2022 by Vesper

But he is second most important player for WHU with Rice. No easy deal. Sane sounds okey as he is also proven but if he has big salary... no thanks/ Bilva... but this not happend. Leao, there was some rumours earlier but he will cost big money. Sadly after Raphinha not many good options 😕 Vesper
