The only rock that kept this team together was our defense. It took something from the attack due to low quality of our players and our questionable ability to play four at the back. But that rock is almost gone. KK and Silva, great defenders, could well be  past it at the highest level. Our biggest improvement in the attack is another past it player. His peak was at City. He will be shadow of himself with our central midfield.

Colwill looks he may be injury prone. Conor flourished in a different system. Broja is Southampton level at best. I don't see the logic that we are better with these players. We are worse. Our rock is gone. Major injury blow and we won't survive  this time around.

We would need those three to hit the ground running to have a chance. And those are slim.

Why do you keep posting this rubbish ?

Chelsea have made a first official offer to Inter for Cesare Casadei around €7m - €8m. Inter would like to have a buy-back clause included in the deal.

Why would the bigger club agree to a buy back clause? That would be mighty silly to agree to.

Joakim Maehle links. He played LWB primarily last year

he is right footer, I do not want any forced inverted fullbacks

for RB backup he is fine, would be a good buy

we should really be looking at

63bc360e1b7961543171c5efe0b901d8.png

he is sort of a 5 year younger Yves Bissouma type, but better defensively

perhaps can become Tchou-like or at least on the road there, with a bit of Camavinga tossed in as well

good size, great pace, very decent dribbler, good instincts

I think he has super high potential

Noted. Will look to you if we see some down tooling this season.

Fair enough. Likewise the doom and gloom brigade should be called out if things go about as can be expected so a 3rd or 4th place finish with around 75 points give or take a few.

And even if there is some 'down tooling' from certain players, Tuchel is not going to be blameless either.

Yep. I get there's some frustrations about this summer and last season but honestly some of the sweeping statements about the team quality is getting ridiculous.

Seeing reports saying we're planning an ambitious scoop for Gavi...

They have officially run out of players to link us with.

because he is in his last year, his release clause went up to €100m (£84m) from €50m

Gavi's release clause changes to 100m euros

There are ongoing negotiations over a contract renewal

https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2022/06/13/62a73b9be2704e1ea98b4574.html

Gavi and Barcelona have been negotiating over a potential contract renewal, but there has been no agreement between the two parties thus far.

Meanwhile, the Spain international has attracted interested from several European clubs and it is believed that Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City would be willing to trigger his 50 million euro buyout clause.

However, there is a deadline concerning the validity of this clause, as it will increase to 100m euros this June, as stated in the contract he signed in September 2020.

Despite the fact that Gavi's progress has been spectacular over the last year, there would not be many suitors willing to pay 100m euros for the youngster.

I so hope he fucks them HARD

But...

Barcelona president Joan Laporta says there is a "strong possibility" Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong will stay at the club and he will "do my best" to keep the Netherlands midfielder, 25. (CBS Sports)

it's fucking laughable
