Just woke up to this. The last few pages of this thread have been pure gold. From gloating to agony In just under 3 hours. 

Not buying this 100% a Barca player . Kounde side would have had no time to examine the contract . In the dembele and raphinha cases they still ok days. Also Barca started negotiations for inigo Martinez just yesterday. Seems ppl just love a short cb these days

A year is a long time in football, it's unnecessary to panic like "we are well fucked, likely for some time". The same vibes were coming out when we got transfer banned and lost Hazard and less than 2 years later we were winning the Champions League. Football is constantly evolving and there will always be new players popping up and some players falling away.

Opportunities can suddenly present themselves from unlikely situations, and whilst we may go into next summer off the back of a disappointing season and looking to significantly strengthen, we could also go into next summer with another top 4 finish and a couple more younger players establishing themselves in the squad meaning we no longer have to look in certain positions.

Just from that list Chiesa and Wirtz are recovering from serious injuries and we don't know yet how they'll recover. Chiesa even more so who is very reliant on his pace.

Gvardiol and Nkunku have just come off the back of one successful season at Leipzig, so will be interesting to see if this continues.

That Romero fella claims Barca have bid.  However, if you read through his last say, 10-15 tweets re. Kounde, they are all over the place and just make no sense.

 

"Alemany and Monchi verbally agreed 55m euros week or 2 ago"   or similar wording was one tweet.  Today now its "Alemany waited to read the media to find out what Sevilla wanted"

 

That sounds absolute bollox lol.   Then claimed Kounde flew to Portugal because Barca asked him to, well firstly the whole squad went by bus and secondly it was widely reported it was so he did not train all by himself with no access to physios etc, while waiting news re. his Chelsea move. 

 

All this "he wants Barca" is also nonsense, he has agreed terms with us.  So he doesnt want "only Barca" does he.. idiots

Boehly’s lawyers are incredibly slow to close the deals we have already done. I think the wrinkle not being discussed is Seville are not in a hurry to have Kounde do a medical exam after his surgury. Chelsea would be fools to close a deal with a player coming off surgury without fully checking it.
