I personally only see Gilmour at DM/DLP, he looks a fish out of water playing higher up. Kai or Ziyech will likely take one CM position while the other is a winger.

So that leaves a 5 (for the two 8 positions) of Kai/Ziyech, Mount, Kova, RLC, Ross. Given next seasons schedule and RLC's injury phroneness (not to mention the doubts around his suitability for FL's system and whether or not his form at the back end of 18/19 was an outliner) i think we can do a lot worse than keep Barkley as an insurance policy (if, as i said, he's happy to play that role).

Fair enough.

I still feel we are a DM away from being truly elite. A proper sitting DM, a Declan rice.

With the CB, GK signings that we have done, it seems obvious that we don't have funds anymore now. If we can somehow sell Barkley and jorginho (lots of links with roma), it can give us the push to get Rice which might change my expectations for the season.

Lampard’s Chelsea were behind only Manchester City and Liverpool for goals scored last season with Willian, Pedro, Giroud and Tammy. Pulisic also only started 50% of games.

Imagine what we’ll produce with Werner, Ziyech, Havertz and a fully fit Pulisic. I cannot wait.

Sadly I doubt we'll ever get a fully fit Pulisic. He's always been injury prone, since his Dortmund days. Thankfully we have Havertz and co to provide those goals and assists if he's not available.

We need him to master the art of making runs in behind the defense. His style of waiting for the ball to come to feet, makes him predictable and is limiting him badly.

Okay, maybe we have a different definition of "fully fit" here but worth remembering that Pulisic started 12 consecutive in all competitions between October and December and started 9 of the 12 games post restart and came of the bench in another 2.

So, the problem is that is not he can't be fully fit but making sure his hamstring doesn't fall to pieces because of over playing etc and doesn't miss a large chunk of games. With more options next season, I expect/hope Lampard will manage his situation better.
