My policy when it comes to Paul Merson is to do the opposite of what he says. 

In other news some Italian sources are saying their may be some sort of Skriniar and Kante swap in the works. Not sure if it is BS but thought I would report.

He just can’t stop beating that dead horse for weeks now. It appears the most fiercely contested competition in England is not the PL but the title of the worst pundit out there and Merson has given himself a headstart before the season even begins.

He means everything is agreed. The english of these italian journos just isn't the best.

Anyone wondering why we are so focused on attacking players should see these charts below:

 

 

 

 

So basically we are much better at creating more chances than everyone in the league bar Mancity, but we cant finish. So this eventually puts pressure on the defenders everytime the match is on the balance, leading us to concede from cheap counterattacks when we should have finished the game much earlier. Also the goalkeeper is a big problem like most of us know by now, lets in most of his shots faced compared to the rest of the Leagues goalkeepers.

For once I'm going to say something nice about Paul Merson...

He grew up a Chelsea fan.

That's nice as far as it goes but I've said it before and I'll probably say it again sooner or later. Before anyone accuses me of boring however they need to answer this question; can you think of anything else nice you can say about Paul Merson? No, thought not.

Yeah just seen that interview with Romano saying he has interest from Italy but Chelsea are in charge and offering 2 years and he wants the PL.

Not too sure about two years but on a free and if he is dropping his wages to circa 70k a week, it won't be a disaster.

He comes from Harlesden where I went to school. Merson is ok he's not a good pundit but nearly all pundits are terrible Paul Ince has to be the worse an absolute cretin. Merson came back from being addicted to charlie, booze and gambling so fair play to him. I remember when he played for Boro they played Barnet in the league cup on the highlights the Barnet fans lots of Spurs connections spent 90 minutes abusing Merson this is just when his troubles were first reported. After the game he was asked about the abuse he shrugged it off saying that's up to them I can handle it. If that was today and any player got that sort of abuse about their personal life there would be faux outrage from the media, fan bans and lawsuits flying everywhere.

If you look past the fact that Merson is a pretty terrible football pundit and spouts a lot of rubbish, at least he's pretty funny and entertaining in doing so, including being the butt of the joke many times.

There are a lot of pundits out there that aren't just rubbish but are also plain boring to boot.

I've actually read Merson's autobiography and it's actually a pretty good, interesting and entertaining read. At the very least he is incredibly honest which is more than can be said about most.
