Im  not sold on Chillwell just yet......I dont find him much better than Emerson, Emerson is probably better attacking. I would rather Telles, better passer, faster, and better crosser.......much cheaper too. Chilwell isnt a worthy upgrade compared to Emerson when you factor in the outlay imo.

I'm not to keen on Chillwell either (my preference is Grimaldo) but he is absolutely better than Emerson. I never really got the hype regarding Emerson, he's as ordinary and passive as it gets.

Yes it is. I have no doubts they will both play for Chelsea very soon.

We already know they are Chelsea fans.

I don't know why people always read so much into these things. Are friends not allowed to like each other's social media posts?

Werner earning more than Kante? hahaha

It's normal when you save a lot of money on transfer fee to give higher salary. Werner alone is worth probably 90m and we'll sign him for 25-30.

Barkley for example costed us only 15m because of contract situation but we gave 7m extra to him and his agent.

Not just based on this but a lot of stuff indicates they will join us. And remember Jorginho's mom and sister?  Likes are important!

Yes he looks better but not for 70m or whatever that is mentioned. Leicester will fleece us hard if we go for him in Jan.

Funny thing is that in Germany, nobody is even talking about Werner leaving in winter. There are talks about him leaving in summer, but that's it. Werner himself wants to win the Bundesliga and he himself said that there is way more to come talking about Leipzigs potential

I see a couple of shit sources are linking us with Isco. While I don't believe them, I don't think he'd suit our team anyways.

They say Real Madrid want to sell him and sign Eriksen. Which to me makes no sense because Isco is a superior player.

No one is denying the club's interest but people getting excited over social media likes is just so...never mind. :chai:

It'll be funny though if things don't turn out the way people expect too.

It was very hard for young players to break into our team. Everything changed with Frank's appointment, transfer ban and very low quality of some senior players (Giroud, Michy, Azpi, Barkley, Pedro...) Also injuries of RLC, Rudiger, Christensen played big part in Mount and Tomori getting chances. Is all of this going to change now once we are back in market? We will definitely replace senior players I mentioned with better ones. For example, Michy and Giroud out - Werner in and Barkley out - Isco in. If this happens Abraham and Mount will lose their place. How you guys feel about this? I mean we are not some development squad for young talented players and if we have a chance to buy top quality like Werner we can't miss it just to make Tammy happy. Our goals are always highest and we want to be better than Liverpool and City soon. With buying Chilwell, Werner and Sancho we are right there. So I think it's great we have so many academy players in the squad and they will still get a lot of chances but if for example Abraham wants to keep starting place he has to be better than Werner. Simple as that. No sentiment. But still I'd rather have all these guys even as squad players then horrible players we bought lately like Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Barkley...

The key with a player like Werner is that he can also operate out wide in a three or possibly as a second striker to Tammy. It gives Lampard more flexibility and genuine options, but also then provides us with an alternative quality central striker if the other is unavailable or out of form.

There are similarities between this and the late 00's/early 10's when we had Anelka and Drogba. Anelka was good enough to play on the right, but he was clearly best centrally. However (despite all the talk about his attitude) he was a very selfless player and sacrificed himself to play out wide in order to play. However at times when Drogba was unavailable he played as the main striker and was top drawer. At the time he was one of the very best backup strikers in world football (the one year Drogba struggled for fitness, Anelka finished the season top scorer in the whole league).

Since that time we've struggled to get a similar blend in the squad. Torres was brought in essentially as the replacement for Drogba and got eaten alive. Then Costa came in and similarly to Drogba, dominated the central striking berth. Now Tammy is staking his claim to do the same. If we can get someone of that mould who will get a lot of games as they're versatile enough to play wide or centrally and more importantly would be a higher quality to simply a backup striker (like Bats and Giroud) then we'll be in a far stronger position.

Chelsea make decision on Jadon Sancho transfer for January as Dortmund make £100m demand

Chelsea are not prepared to meet the £100m asking price Borussia Dortmund have slapped on Jadon Sancho.

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1220743/Chelsea-Decision-On-Jadon-Sancho-Transfer-January-Borussia-Dortmund-100m-Demand

Chelsea remain interested in signing Jadon Sancho in January but are unwilling to go as high as the £100m Borussia Dortmund have quoted them ahead of the winter transfer window. Sancho, a boyhood Blues fan, is on Frank Lampard’s wish list with the Chelsea boss being given cash to splash after the west Londoners’ transfer ban was cut in half.

Express Sport understands Sancho is - along with Wilfried Zaha and Timo Werner - one of a number of forwards Chelsea are keen on buying in the new year.

However, they have decided to hold off pursuing a deal if Dortmund will not climb down from the whopping £100m valuation they have put on the 19-year-old’s head.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga remains Chelsea’s all-time record signing having rocked up at Stamford Bridge in a £72m move in the summer of 2018.

Marina Granovskaia and co. are unwilling to blow that figure out of the water, despite Lampard’s admiration for Dortmund winger Sancho.

Sancho has bolstered his reputation as one of Europe’s top young attackers this season by netting nine goals and providing nine assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances.

snip

this sounds like bullshit

Dortmund have said 150m euros ie. £128m for weeks per German press

now we are to believe that if they dropped the price by 28m quid

and to that we would still say no,

BUT

at the same time we WOULD spend only £20m less on fucking Zaha???

as if Sancho is only worth around £10 or 15m or so more than Zaha in our board's eyes?????

pure tosh

and if it isn't

and we did or will turn down a 100m pound ask price for Sancho but THEN DO go spend 80m quid on Zaha

the fucking club needs to be fucking sold, as clearly they have insanely poor football intelligence and Roman is doing nothing to stop the madness

I do not care if they just refuse to pay the 100m, as it is not my cash obviously

but do NOT turn around and spend damn near that on a clearly inferior player who is also 7 plus years older

that difference in price is less than one percent of what Roman was asking for the entire club with Ratcliffe
