Kepa always play b2b games under TT when we play Cup so I think he will start here. Newcastle can be tricky next week.

CHO, Havertz sure thing in attack and I expect Kova and James back in the lineup.

Ugh just realized its a lunchtime kick off.. hopefully no slips. Keep focused and get the job done.

Last 2 games at Stamford Bridge were losses in this kick off. City this season and WBA last season. Even 2 games before that in early kick off we didn't win. Leeds and Southampton away.

Yup, lunch time kick offs are always prone slip ups.

Does Mendy need rest? He is spectacular when called upon, but most of the game he spectating.

Exactly. Never got the idea of 'resting' a keeper unless solely for the purpose of preventing injury ahead of a big cup game or just to give your highly rated 2nd keeper some game time.

Kepa will start in the cup game midweek., no doubt.

Seeing the way we pressed like crazy yesterday and really wanted to impose ourselves in an opponent our players all clearly realized was massively inferior gives me big time confidence against Norwich even without Rom or Werner. Quotes last night from Mount also confirm that the players themselves recognize that we’ve been shit in the PL for a bit now despite being top of the table.

So I expect to see a similar mentality this weekend with Kai leading the like and Mount + CHO beside him. Jorginho should probably keep his place in order to give us control and keep things ticking and since we’ll be dominating the ball I wonder if Kante will be rested in favor of Ruben or Kova.

It genuinely felt that the moment Havertz came on, the entire team went full throttle on the press. Jorginho and the wingbacks were pressing forward to an extent we never saw with Lukaku on the pitch.

It's ridiculous that even the idea of dropping Mendy for Kepa gets banded about, never mind not even a week after he produced one of the keeper performances of the season.

Agreed...but also have to keep in mind, Malmo offered nothing.

Azpi was practically playing as a striker. Would like to see how the fullbacks play against a PL side.

He doesn't need rest. And he is best keeper in the world. But TT since arriving always play Kepa in b2b games. Sometimes he plays before Cup game, sometimes after. Norwich at home is easier than Newcastle away so this is why people expect to see Kepa. It has nothing to do with Mendy really.

And don't forget without Kepa we would not win Super Cup and would be already out of Carabao Cup and state of the club and fans would be much worse so he deserves to play here and there more than many outfield players we see far often.
