They were real warriors last night. Congratutions on point gained. World class performances from the most, especially AC and Mendy.

We will need that warrior, fight till the end, never give up mentality and out of world performances from our defenders bar Alonso, and midfielders to get single point against top five teams in this League and in knockout stages of CL with Lukaku up front. Every single point will be extremely hard to get. And that will be the price for all those goals against midtable teams and relegation fodders like Arsenal.

Several lows that concerned me. Why Alonso started? He can't defend against teams that press and fast counter attacking teams aka Liverpool. To make up for midfielder that we are missing up front in our link up play and chances creating, because we have our striker with questionable skillset there, maybe. It was wrong call. Liverpool attacked our left side, created pressure, Alonso prevented Mendy from seeing the ball clear and getting it, red car and penalty happened. It wasn't shock, either surprise. With Alonso there.

Why was Havertz taken off? He is our most skilled player.  Why Lukaku stayed in the second half when he was isolated and surplus? Wouldn't Werner be more useful in the second half when it wasn't about goals, but pressing and defending?  Werner was way better in those aspects than Lukaku.

Ironically, those balls that Mount and Havertz didn't pass to Lukaku, Werner would. I'm just not sure would Lukaku scored or tripped on them. Too many touches needed.

Said it way before he was signed, we will play games against top five (City, United, Pool, Leister, Spurs) with ten man with Lukaku upfront and I will be saying it after City game I'm afraid.

I wanted  Chilwell to start with Pulisic/ Werner, Havertz and Mount upfront. Phantasy, I know.

Mendy was low-key the most crucial aspect of the second half, sample size suggests atleast one of them go in with Kepa in goal.

Now that slow motion is available, it seems James stops the ball with his knee then the ball finds his left arm.
But what was the ball's trajectory after hitting the knee and before finding the arm ? In, out or sideways ?
It's crucial and we can't see from those replays and it's not at all clear it was going in.
At the very least it was clearly not deliberate and therefore punishable with red card.

Anyway talk about james, actually sometimes i still really worried by him defensively.

Before he was sent off.

The way he couldnt cope well and how he got exposed defensively for numerous times still worrying to watch.

Lack of position awareness, concentration relapse, slow thinking, a bit poor decision how to defend against a quick and good attacking movement is still concerning.

The henderson chance on the very early part of the game, just one example, henderson arrive in the very dangerous area, being open, exposed, unmarked aswell, he really could scored if not because his poor contact with the ball when he tried to shoot.

That chance and some couple moments in yesterday game, just really show even after a while, he seems still not improving that crucial aspect when it comes to defend

Maybe i'm bit harsh on him. But against well coach and well drilled team, he still looks really unrealiable.

Hope tuchel really notice this and actually already really working with him on those aspect

So in the future when we facing the high intensity attacker, quick and organised movement, just what like liverpool unfortunately very good at. As defensive unit, this team could defend much more better

Good game from Chelsea, very gritty performance ... we were aggressive with 11 players and disciplined with 10. Loved the approach, i was thinking that both teams would sit back and defend which would make it boring. But loved the way we approached the game, speaks volume about the team.

The best and most encouraging moment for me was when the team came together after the final whistle in a huddle, shows how much everyone is invested in each other, as a team.

Good watch this. We all know Azpilicueta is an absolute soldier, but Alonso was fantastic against the Scousers. He may have one of his best seasons ever if he keeps it up 'knock on wood'.

Yep thought he played very well, again, like every other game this season but the match thread was still full of folk bashing him again for being “not good enough/shit” which is the complete opposite of how he played 🤣

Further proof that doesn’t matter how well you play here, if your one of Alonso, Mount or Jorginho, you’re going to be written off or criticised anyway.…

Mount and Rudiger did a good job covering that left side, but Alonso was immense going up and down the pitch when we had 10 men. He and Lukaku were our main outlets.
