DANILA 290
Like-able guy, clearly wants to play at CFC but if we want to win something serious in the next 2 years, we need to sign experienced guys at this point (25-28). We have enough youth right now

Vesper 30,224
Chelsea told to pay extra £10m to sign Declan Rice this summer https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/chelsea-told-pay-extra-10m-18752407 Perry Groves has backed Chelsea to make a move for Declan Rice but has warned that the West Ham midfielder will not come cheaply. The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old, who was actually released from the youth set-up at Stamford Bridge as a 15-year-old. Frank Lampard looks set to splash the cash this summer as he looks to put his own stamp on the Chelsea squad following last year's transfer ban. Groves, however, warned that Rice will not come cheaply, with his seven England caps enabling West Ham to charge an English premium on the player. Yet, speaking on talkSPORT, Arsenal legend Groves argued that Rice was precisely the sort of player that the Blues need to target in order to strengthen what he perceives as a weakness in the middle of the park. "I think he does suit Chelsea because we said before, they look weak through the centre of their midfield area," Groves said. Atomiswave

I didn't until I watched him for the last games for WHU and he was simply fantastic I can see exactly why we would be wanting him, he's leader material and developed into a very sound footballer. Right, but as CB? I would love him here and have he and Kante in the pivot against Top sides. Supermonkey92

Costa19 858
Does he play CB for West Ham? If not, Why would he suddenly come here and be an elite CB? We dont need more potential We need more world class..
Pulisicismydaddy 91
No problem for me with trying him as a CB, Kante is getting old, if being a centre half doesn't work out he can easily go back in midfield and replace Kante.

We spend 50M or whatever on Rice he won't be coming in as a midfielder, we have a purely shocking back line and whilst spending money elsewhere and a lot of it he goes into CB for me all day long. And if he doesnt fit as CB? Then we will have the same shitty back line as the season before? I cant see us spending big on Rice AND another elite CB. Dont know if i would take the gamble.. It will be Rice for CB and no other defender apart from a LB coming in.
