What does Emanalo have to do with the Mikel deal? He wasn't even our sports director back then.

Mikel was not signed because of Emanalo, he was signed because he was the second best player in the U18 world cup at the time behind only Lionel Messi. Naturally, he had most top teams chasing after him and we managed to secure his signing.

If him leaving is to give Chalobah( or someone like Loftus-Cheek) the understudy to Matic role in a 4-2-3-1 then i'm all for it. If that is not the case then i'd rather keep Mikel.he would be good to have on the bench..to cover for Matic and also if we have Matic and Fabregas as our two CM's. Are ahead in a game and want to shut up shop we can bring on Mikel for Fabregas. Matic is clearly better than Mikel but after Matic there is not many better at that role around and even fewer willing to not be 1st choice.

Sell Mikel and promote a youngster for the fifth place, no point having a player like Mikel sitting in the stands most weeks because he could still fetch the club around 10m in transfer fee and free up a lot of wages too

Like i said if a youngster is promoted to be Matic's understudy like Chalobah then i'm all for it.in a 4-2-3-1 formation tho Mikel as a DM if Matic missed time is alot better option than having Ramires who isn't good at tackling,keeping possesion or passing..Van Ginkel could maybe evolve into the position but is at this point better at the other CM position as is Fabregas.

So for those 2 CM positions you have one at DM and 3 to play the other. There's no one really there without Mikel to partner Matic if we want to shut up shop in midfield with 2 DM's

Another option would be to bring Oriel back to be Matic's back up..but again not ideal.

I really liked him and I thouht he could one day be a good DM. His skills are not good enough he is not getting better and simply cant be a DM for us. Its time for him to move on and play somewhere as a number 8 or 10 same as for nigeria. It would be better for him and chelsea. Nothing really to argue about mates.

Mikel is the best back up for Matic, very reliable player. Don't understand why nobody rates him.

Pretty bad performance so far.

Thought MIkel wasn't that great against Bosnia.

Emenike was fantastic though; pace, power and the final touch.
