But if we just count the spending and not the sales, then I believe only Mourinho has spent more than Lampard here?

gross spend not even close

the only gross spend (and that counts January as well) bigger was  17/18

but we sold a shedload too

We should absolutely not go for Rice considering Lampard has no idea what he's doing (buying him because he's the next young english player) and he'll be minimum $70mm. IMO Lampard should not be given any more funds, but some of the technical personnel should buy who they think would solidify out approach to top 4. Hope/think FL will be out sooner rather than later

ManU won against Wolves. Top 4 is getting more and more difficult for the No.1 spending club in Europe.
If the excuse of a coach in our dugout got some kind of dignity, he should resign. He is destroying our club.

Ole would be getting a lot of stick for Lampard‘s results. We got an idiot as our manager.

Only 6 points ahead of Arsenal and we face City next, hows he not sacked yet? If you're looking at our next three fixtures then its very possible that Arsenal who've had one the worst starts in their history close the gap on us.

Disgraceful...

You lot calling Lampard to be sacked but there has been nothing about him getting the sack. It's like screaming into an empty void...

I'm disbelief to be honest, I expected Roman to be more ruthless. He sacked Ancelotti, Mourinho and Conte for much less.

Ancelotti's sacking was a long time ago and I think Roman regretted that one.

Mourinho got sacked in 2015 because he had us near the relegation zone and had clearly lost the plot. He got sacked the first time because of disagreement with the board and again, that was a long time ago.

Conte got sacked after the season ended and primarily because he was throwing tantrums like a baby.

For better or for worse, I don't think Lampard will be sacked (yet).

I think maybe end of the season..unless things get worse which they probably will...

Putting him as June on the calander was optimistic...

I think we'll only sack him when we're hovering at mid table come Feb/March. Ironic how when we need to board/Abramovitch to be rash and ruthless they're not because of past experiences. If there is a time, it's now while we can still salvage the season!

Mark Lawrenson explains why Chelsea can’t challenge for the Premier League title

https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/club-news/mark-lawrenson-explains-why-chelsea-cant-challenge-for-the-premier-league-title/

Mark Lawrenson has claimed that he’s “not totally convinced” by Chelsea this season and feels that they should be vying for a top four finish in the Premier League, suggesting that a title bid is beyond them.

The Blues travel to the Emirates Stadium at 5:30pm on Boxing Day for a league fixture against London rivals Arsenal.

Upcoming opponents Arsenal are remarkably 15th in the division table after over a third of the season and haven’t won a league match since 1 November against Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are fifth in the table as it stands, but have just two wins in their previous five league games after hitting a small blip.

BBC pundit Lawrenson has predicted Frank Lampard’s side to draw 1-1 away to Arsenal at the weekend and has raised his doubt about the team.

“I am not totally convinced by Chelsea either. They were on a really good run until the start of December but I don’t think they are consistent enough to challenge Liverpool for the title. The top four is a realistic target for Frank Lampard’s side though,” he told BBC Sport.
