The crowd were good last night, have been since he started picking the right line ups instead of picking players who were constantly under performing.

The mass annoyance from the crowd simply comes from his shit selections, his shit substitutions and the lack of game time for lads who should be given more game time.

The acid tests comes in the next two games, Prague on Thursday should be where the little changes are made ready for Sunday at Anfield. The strongest side we can field now is the one that started last night, which means Emerson, CHO and RLC for Sunday with Alonso, Willian/Pedro and Kovacic/Barkley on Thursday.

It pushes everybody to step up and perform now rather than feeling comfortable with their position in the team.

The only players currently who are undroppable for all the main games are Kepa, Kante and Hazard.

The rest of the team need to perform to get in. I would love to see Willian or Pedro play a blinder on Thursday night and help win us the game. It gives Sarri options and decisions to make with more players pushing for their best form in the run in.

Barkley came on last night and got a great assist for the second goal. He needed that because his place is under huge threat from RLC's performances recently. We haven't had enough of that this season but hopefully the penny has dropped for Sarri just at the right time.

Nice step forward, but the fact of the matter is, yesterday was all down to Eden Hazard, not Sarri's tactics.

  Come off it.

Give credit where it's due. Hazard influenced the final third but  it was Sarri's tactics that had us dominate the rest of the pitch. West Ham didn't have a sniff bar the chances that were created from our individual errors. We retained the ball brilliantly. We played out from the back, whilst under pressure, to near perfection. Our midfield had energy and created space for themselves to lead a transition. Our wingers attacked West Ham's Bus nonstop.

He approved the extension to Alonso by saying that maybe he's the best left back in the world. Pathetic. He's nowhere near.

you're continuing to lie. he said that he could become the best IF he learns how to defend

you should report the entire sentence

Sarriball still isn't technically working. Again, take out Hazard from the team, and the game would have ended 0-0.

On top of that, I still don't trust this man. It's great Emerson, CHO and RLC are getting a look in - FINALLY. But he can disappoint us easily again at Anfield, reverting to Alonso, Willian, Barkley/Kovacic and Pedro.

Because that's his "safe" options.

I don't even trust Sarri in the transfer market.

He brought in his engine Jorginho. Zero assists for the club so far. Failure.

He brought in Higuain. Two goals (both against Huddersfield) for the club. Failure.

He approved Kovacic. Has done NOTHING of note since joining. Failure.

He approved the extension to Alonso by saying that maybe he's the best left back in the world. Pathetic. He's nowhere near.

And on top of that, Sarri really wants Higuain and Kovacic to join us on a permanent basis.

F that. Seriously. I don't want another season of this shite.

Bottom line is Sarri has done damage to the club and lost trust with 90% of the fans. He has to do something extraordinary for fans to be on his side again, and for that to happen - he must both get top 4 and win the EL.

In all fairness what did you expect at the start of the season? A title challenge? With Morata upfront? With Willian a regular? With David Luiz playing CB? With Kovacic/Barkley playing attacking midfield? With Alonso playing LB? Under a manager whos style is totally different to any approach weve had in the last 5 years? Under a guy who has never actually won anything either.

It is fair to say this season has been disappointint in some regards yes and last nights game was a decent team performance but individual talent won it for us more than a team effort, fair, but I think after the first 10 games under Sarri it was easy to see there was still huge amount of work needed to actually compete for the top 4, also when you take into account the mid season struggle we had as well as Arsenal, Spurs and Uniteds revivals so to speak (all 3 of them have got more regular goalscoring CFs like Kane, Aubamayang, Son, Lacazette, Martial, Rashford, Lukaku), it made it more awkward.

The Arsenal game showed our defensive frailness and that was the third match of the season. The Newcastle game, the week after, was lucky in terms of an own goal to win it as we werent efficient enough in attack. We were too ponderous against West Ham in the 0-0 draw, week 6 or 7 of the season. Against United, 9th game, again ponderous at times after a decent enough first half and frail defensively. Then few weeks later 0-0 draw with Everton and a loss 3-1 to Spurs. Few weeks later lose to Wolves as well before beating City. The early signs were inevitably there, we were conceding big chances and were lucky not to concede more than we did in some games.

Our start under Sarri was alright but hardly quite as good to be considered to automatically get top 4 in my opinion (even though it was put down to like 11 games unbeaten or whatever), especially considering how United were inevitably gonna change manager at some point meaning theyd get results like most big clubs do after a managerial change reinvigorating big players, Arsenal were always gonna improve as opposed to get worse than theyre start and Spurs are Spurs, who were somehow gonna be there or theres about as they usually are.

I think a CF capable of 15-20 goals could have swung it a bit more for us but we didnt go for Higuain in the summer and hes clearly unfit and struggling just now, if we got him in the summer maybe hed have veen fitter maybe hed still have struggled though who knows. I suppose hoping hed come in, when severely unfit, having never played in this league, pinning high hopes on him in January was always going to be a huge risk.

Also anyone who watched Napoli when Sarri first arrived will have seen how it took time, in a slower league, for him to implement his methods as well before they really clicked. I know the Klopp and Pep comparisons are also inevitablely wrong in some regard but its took Klopp like 3 years to turn Liverpool into actual title competitors and even Pep needed a full season and various signings in key areas (full back, GK, wide areas) before going on and winning PL last season.

I still think if we somehow get good results at Liverpool and United (who havent been good since Solskjaer was actually appointed as manager on a full time basis) we will get the top 4, I hope we dont really prioritize the Europa over the top 4 but I would imagine we will, which is risky.

Suppose for neutral fans outside of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, United it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 5 or 6 games.

Behave yourself.

Just like what happened against Everton, Leicester, Cardiff etc. right? Dominated these matches (except Everton 2nd half) and there are probably load more matches we "dominated" but got nothing, but I don't have these on top of my head.

Especially Hazard's 1st goal, it had NOTHING to do with Sarri's tactics, it was pure down to individual brilliance. Big Sam could have been our manager and Hazard still would have scored.

Lol, they DID have a sniff. That Lanzini chance. Good save from Kepa, but that was a sniff.

Hazard has always influenced the final third. To discredit the other two thirds however, when the team performed Sarri's tactics to a tee, pathetically and embarrassingly shows your agenda.

Finishing has been an issue all season, but not finishing your chances is up to the manager

No it's YOU that's lying. I'm speaking the truth.

He said "AT THE MOMENT".

Also the thing is, he isn't doing well offensive AND defensive.

EDIT: Ohhhh he said "in Europe". Okay, I'll change my wording from "in the world" to "in Europe". Still silly.

Tbf its a odd quote because he says maybe he is the best in Europe before going on to say maybe he can be the best left back in the world. Surely it would be fair to assume the best LB in Europe is going to the be the LB in the world considering the higher standsrd of football, which is no disrespect to the other leagues but inevitably undeniable. Still regardless. Its an odd quote to make regarding Alonso. He started well but wouldnt say he was best in the PL at that phase yet alone the world.

To a tee? So are you saying West Ham had no chance to equalise? Had no shots against our goal? Or are we watching two different games?

Retained the ball well. Played out from the back under pressure and led a quick transition through space created from our midfield. AKA Sarri's football.

Again, I stated West Ham's only chances came from our own individual errors. Lanzini's shot came from RLC miss placing a pass that led West Ham to counter.

We genuinely could of had 4 or 5 different goal scorers on the night. So ill ask again, is poor finishing down to the manager? The fact you are crediting that but discrediting our build up which is 100% down to Sarri's tactics, again pathetically shows your agenda.

Tbf I think its fair to assume some folk are sick of Sarri regardless of tactics, whatever else and even at the game, the amount of folk who boo'd when he subbed RLC summed it up.

Id like to see him get next season and even the one after if he can have better results next year but I suppose some folk want him out and have done for months, which I would say is wrong but its been the tradition of the club to chuck managers when things havent gone well which is probably why a certain amount of fans think it wouldnt be the worst move because its been successful in the past.

I put in a post up there why I believe it was always gonna be a tougher season, the early signs were there in the first 10 to 15 games regarding our attack and defense which has been ponderous and poor at times.

There was a French guy on here years ago called Seb Chaupis who is a pundit and coach who wrote a very good article regarding what could derail our season, with some excellent points made regarding pressing, being exposed out wide, lack of rotation among other things. Fair to say some of things he mentioned have been features at somepoint this season.

But was he? He wasn't! All I can remember him doing anything of note at the beginning of the season was score the winning goal against Arsenal. He wasn't the "best in Europe" then, he didn't even have that title last season.

Also he doesn't have to keep saying Alonso is the best, his actions says it all by continuously starting him.

for me no,  he wasn't and maybe never will

but I don't think that emerson is better then him, so it's not a crime to let alonso play instead of emerson imho

I'm on the fence with him.

Like I said, he wasn't doing himself any favors consistently whining yet still playing the usual culprits. But when you look at how we play under him, I can see his ideas and I can see the improvement in particular areas. And I can see that if we did inject more quality with players fit for this football, there's no telling our potential.

A top 4 finish or Europa league trophy deserves him next season regardless.

Absolutely. I think as long as we secure CL football in whatever way, he will stay, its undoubtedly true that regardless of whoever was our manager right now we need to improve certain areas of the squad. Transfer ban complicates that indeed but I am sure there is news on the 11th regarding it.

His conclusion:

If Chelsea get back into the Champions League, let alone mount a title Challenge, whilst competing in the Europa League, it will be an achievement in and of itself, especially considering how many good teams there are out there.

Doing all of it in style, with little rotation, inconsistent pressing, and a misfiring attack in front of goal would be bordering on an extraordinary achievement.

-----------------------

The possibility of getting a top 4 is there, of wining the EL is there.

So if we get CL, then yeah let him continue.

I said bar lady luck for the opposition.

True. But still I don't think both are needed to win majority of the fans over. Anyway, not important, just something I felt like pointing out, but is not a big enough statement to make a discussion over imo.
