There will NEVER be a better captain than John Terry.

No player is ever bigger than his club, but John Terry personifies Chelsea football club more than any player that has ever put on the blue shirt, certainly in my lifetime.

This was normally inevitable, but it still feels painful as hell. We can't thank you enough for all the trophies you lifted, memories you created, heart you gave, and above all, all the times you put the club and the fans before yourself.

Best PL defender of the past 15 years. Best centreback of his generation in a low block system. And I've never witnessed a better captain. Not just for Chelsea but anywhere. A colossal leader of men. Only Puyol compares. I'm convinced I won't see a more fitting skipper.

I am of course biased but I don't care.

I had the privilege of meeting this gentlemen about 3 or 4 times over his playing career. At one of the signings he wanted to know my story and how long I've been supporting Chelsea and how long I was over in the UK. I explained I had moved to London for the length of the season and just followed the club everywhere they went, including the youth team. He smiled and asked me to meet him at the team bus after the Everton away game.I obviously said yes and met up with him and he surprised me with the photo underneath. Absolute legend and my football idol. 

 

Now the current crop need to go on and win the league and hopefully the FA Cup so he can go out in style.
