But he would be coming back to fans to who love him and players who respect him. And Jose not being the same guy is a good thing. Hopefully they have both learned some lessons.

Chelsea is not the same club either. And I don't really think one can compare coming back to a football club to marriage. Of course there are no guarantees but I cannot see any other option at the moment. It would change the whole scene at Chelsea and we, the fans, simply deserve it :-)

Wait...so you're saying Liz Taylor didn't love Richard Burton??:rant:

It absolutely can be compared to a marriage in my opinion and I hope like you do that they have both changed for the better. They were both relatively young first time around, and they've had a number of years which have brought their own struggles. I hope that they can do things better this time around, because we would be unstoppable in that instance.

My point being, all the media hype and speculation naturally leads more people to back it, bringing the odds in... We were having "secret meetings" with Falcao as well.

If it gets confirmed it will be one of the greatest moments of the season, and would be so so GOOD... But given our history with this sort of thing and media speculation, i will try and keep my expectations down just in case (well as down as i can)...

And dortmund for me... ;)

Yeah aware of price shortening and reason for it all too well - stingy bookies don't miss a trick, but like i stated the price/odds actually went out for a short period. I'm with you on expectation, rather be patient and keep stum and wait for the inevitable, but nothing wrong with a little bit of excitement from other members.

Dortmund - you cheeky monkey! I will let you know when the team has been knocked out or gets to the final. :D

There have been rumours floating around the club about his return because ultimately it's just like any other workplace. Some people just put 2 and 2 together because it ultimately comes down to one man - Roman.

As i said 'don't quote me' its just media speculation at this stage and concur it should come down to Roman but that's not always been the case with previous failed appointments.

It would appear now there is a deal in place in principle but that requires us to finish top four.

That is also speculation and the very same as the masses gossiping on the shop floor, think it's a load of bull personally but just my opinion.

People like BlueArmy really do need to temper their enthusiasm a little bit though for the sanity of the rest of us and to not make us look like complete mugs.

See where you are coming from fella but its not you or i that will look a little sheepish if there is a u-turn, each to there own really, don't see a great deal of harm in it.

It would be great if he came back (in theory) but he's by no means the only man in the world who can make us league champions next year.

Goes without saying that he is my number 1 choice has been since he left! If Jose is not appointed who would you believe that is available that could bring home the bacon, promote our encouraging youth and also build a dynasty?

There's also the chance of offending the mockers gods by saying with certainty that he's coming back - he isn't. It's just looking a lot more likely than it did a couple of months ago.

Agree his appointment seems more plausible now than it has at any other time, still not nailed on but just another rung up the ladder.

Why Laudrup ?

Good question, why does people rate Laudrup so highly?

I loved Laudrup as a player and was my favorite player when i was a kid, the most elegant player on the ball outside of Zidane.

But as a manager i don't really get the hype.

Landrup Trophies: 1

Chelsea: 0

But in all seriousness, I rate him highly because I always got the impression Roman wanted sexy football.

When I think of Chelsea in the past, I think of a long ball physically dominating team (not very sexy at all). Landrup can instill a new philosphy in Chelsea. Something that is attractive, where the rest of Europe won't look negatively at our tactics.

However, watching Swansea a lot, his team does give up lots of unnecessary goals....

So, he might not have "big club" experience, however, I think Chelsea needs a new face and style, which Landrup can be leading......

(I think he's linked to Arsenal and Madrid as well).
