The Mourinho Thread

All these suits and well-groomed hair may not be a big deal, but let's face it guys, we would've been quite disappointed if Mourinho came dressed in one of those tracksuits for his return against Hull last summer.

I think he owes it to the club's image to wear those designer suits on big occasions like Champions League nights, opening day, cup finals, etc but it doesn't really matter if he comes in a polo shirt and shorts for a League Cup match.

He's the Special One, he wears what he wants.

. The Special One - wore suits

. The "Man of War" (circa 07) - shaves his head because we signed bad eggs in the summer, wore a tracksuit against Rosenberg and got sacked

. Return of the Special One - wore suits & designer gear non-stop in italy

. The Only One - wore suits

. The Only One - stopped wearing suits towards the end of his bitter tenure in Madrid

. The Happy One - wears a suit for his return to Chelsea and the following games

. The Grumpy One - results aren't great, we're behind in the table, he throws on a generic club tracksuit, then shaves his head.

The Overanalyzing One - Term-X

Am I wrong in remembering that he once said in an interview that he is just getting old and wanted to wear what he finds comfortable?

Sod next season then. If Jose isn't going to wear a suit, lets just not bother.

We had bad results so he wore a tracksuit in a ****Champions League semi-final****. Makes loads of sense!

And for the record, Jose shaved his head in November, not at the end of the season.

That's not true, Mourinho in the "title game" against Bacelona (7 points ahead with 4 games to play) was not wearing a suit in the camp Nou. In the day Mourinho won the title he was not wearing a suit. He wasn't wearing a suit also in the semi final against Bayern Munich in that same season, and again not wearing a suit in the victory of Madrid against Barcelona in the super cup in camp Nou and in the Bernabeu in the next season.

In Inter I can't confirm because I don't remember that kind of thing. I know in Real Madrid because some papers said he wanted another brand, the same way they say he changed the man that was cooking for Madrid, or he didn't let journalist or fans to fly in Madrid's plane (something that before was usual before Mourinho arrives in Madrid). In Madrid they like a lot this kind of stuff, specially the papers.

"Title game":

The day Mourinho wins the title in San Mames:

1st leg of the semi final in Munich:

2nd leg of the semi final:

1st leg of the super cup (second game of the season):

And many more. And that was by far the best moment of Mourinho in Madrid, with something like 95% of aproval from the the fans, winning against Barcelona for the first time in 4 years, Mourinho was god in Madrid something no other manager could do. The connection between Mourinho and the fans of Madrid no other coach had at least in the modern times (maybe Miguel Muñoz 60 years ago).

It's not an exact formula (nothing ever is) but the dots are still there, even from his time at Madrid, he showed up in Manchester sliding around on his knees in a suit. There is enough from his two spells here, at Inter and Porto to piece a theory together.

Mourinho talked about Suarez for Yahoo.

I don't have a link but he said he's absolutely fantastic when he's not diving penalties - lol

I'd rather us to break the bank and bring Suarez rather than buy 3-4 players, now that we already have Fabregas.

We can live without a new LB for another season. Iva-Azpili aren't the reason why we haven't won anything last season.

And I'm absolutely aware of what a cunt Suarez is - although he seems to have matured some last season.

I would love suarez here, .00001% of it happening though. We should have broke the bank for Lewa when we had the chance.

Lewandowski had great offers from everywhere but he wasn't going anywhere but Bayern. The only club he wanted to play for.
