The Mourinho Thread

United under David Moyes played better than we have. Mourinho is not a long term coach, this is becoming more and more apparent. He needs to go!

That's so bad when you look at that and it's the truth. We are even making Rodgers look like a genius.

And that excuse of bad summer signing is so poor. That is no justification for what we are seeing, being a relegation form.

That's all down to the manager.

Why do people insist on mentioning other teams and there managers?. What happened under Moyes at Man United or Wenger or Rodgers is totally irrelevant. We are in a massive crisis on and off the field I couldn't give a flying fuck about anyone else accept Chelsea.

It's except not accept. The point is those teams with those shit managers did better than we are doing. It should be a hint enough for our board.

Had posted this in the west ham post match thread, but this is where it should be

I'm just reading all the arguments on here about Jose, the team, who's playing good and who's shite. So guys let's stand back and look at this from a neutral point of view (if we can).

Right, we're the reigning champions........But in honesty we did not perform after last Christmas and struggled over the line, and that form has continued into this season. If we had been second or third after Christmas and played like we did, we would not have accepted it and we would have been critizising the manager and team just like we are now.

We bought very poorly over the summer which also added to the problem. We bought no quality whatsoever. There is not a player we bought who walked straight into the side.

Season starts and we are piss poor. Same rubbish we played at the end of last season only worse.

The players aren't performing, The manager rigidly sticks with a formation which doesn't create any clear cut chances or shots on target. We cannot break down defences any more, and we are utter rubbish at defending corners and set pieces.

The manager has installed a siege mentality within the club and is constantly in trouble with the FA. Club staff are also ill-diciplined and getting sent off.

Morale inside the club is rock bottom and this is very obvious when we go behind in games.

This squad is one of the very best in the Premiership and is languishing 15th in the league, and no real signs of improvement or change by the manager. Liverpool next up and if we lose that we are in a relegation fight........This is Chelsea I am talking about, not Sunderland or Newcastle or some other bottom feeding side!!!

So after reading this from a neutral point of view, I can only see one outcome and that is that the manager will have to go and a new regime installed to save our season. I like Mourinho and was delighted to see him come back, but we need a change. Diego Simeone for me and the sooner the better. It may seem harsh but that's football and the club must come first.

Cheers for the English lesson squire. Will do better next time sir honest !. But my point still stands comparing other teams woes and our own is pointless.

Well unfortunately Football is a sport where you are competing against many other teams to be the best. So it is undeniably inevitable that we will be held in comparison to those other teams. Which is making Jose look shocking for a man who has achieved soo much in world football.

I agree with everything you said except the bolded part about Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers is a mid-table manager, nothing more, he was just lucky to have Suarez at Liverpool.

The year they finished 2nd they were firing on all cylinder attacking wise. Not only he got the best out of Suarez, so did he out of An aging Gerard and got the best out of Sturridge, Sterling, and Coutinho. He made that team click. That is a mark of a good manager, getting the best out of your players is all you can ask for.

His biggest issue were the following:

1. Losing his best players. Suarez aside, but Sturridge has constantly been injured in the last two season. That is a lot of goals and quality to lose. Also Gerrard declined massively due to age. Imo I rank those 3 as Liverpool best players when they finished 2. I think it is immensely flawed when people look at that team, as only minus Suarez.

2. Poor transfers. Whether it was him or the clubs guru mathematicians, they failed in reinforcing their squad. They have signed a lot of mediocre players.

3. They conceded a lot of goals, that is on him and only.

Ultimately he is not a bad manager, and gave Liverpool their best chance at winning the title in almost 30 years.

It is,.but in reality, who is a long term coach these days? People are too invested in the romantic picture of Fergie and too a lesser extent Wenger to see the realities of the modern game.

Dortmund looked shot in Klopps last season and a different team since he left, Pep himself admitted he would have had to have left Barca after a few years because players would tire of his ideas.

No more than 5 years is really possible for managers at top clubs these days for a variety of reasons.

Would anyone take Ronald Koeman if we got rid of Mourinho? Curious.

His last big job was with Valencia when he didn't last the season, had them fighting relegation and alienated and froze out key figures like Canizares and Albeda.

C'mon Tomo. Are you like always going to dismiss managers/coaches because of one bad job in their careers? Granted, some aren't/won't be good but not all are bad.

If every manager was perfect then they would coach Real/Barca/Bayern. The key is not whether a manager is perfect or not, but whether THEY KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF AN IMPERFECT SITUATION. In this sense why we all laugh at Wenger for many years but he is a manager that consistently get his team to be that 'nearly' team in the worst of the worst situation without combusting himself like LVG, Mourinho...etc. If he had a PSG/Chelsea squad I really think he would have added a lot more league titles to his CV instead of having to rebuild the team all the time for nearly 10 years.

Basically a good reputation coach is acceptable atm, doesn't need to be a super star big name. What about that Valencia coach now that no one heard of before last season?
