I can't understand how people think Cech is staining his image. Or people upset he's joining Arsenal. He is a person, he enjoys London, as does his family. He didn't choose to be replaced, he needs to make a living, play and enjoy his last few years in the game. Fans would prefer he uproot his family or sit on the bench. I'm not upset he's gone arsenal as he wanted to stay in London and no doubt join a team that has potential to challenge for trophies and play in Europe.Annoyed that it was so straight forward for them whereas if it was other way round no doubt it'd go on forever

I'm a little disappointed in him personally , but in football terms , I don't really care. I actually think he will flop. Injury prone and can't deal with crosses.

I won't get angry , but not wishing him any luck either.

I have been reading this thread and it seems that people are split on Peter leaving us. Some are pleased for him, and others are annoyed that he is leaving. Well lets be brutally honest and list a few facts, and then I'll give my feelings on this transfer.

Fact......Petr was a super servant to Chelsea for many years now.

Fact......He has won everything he could at Chelsea.

Fact......He didn't make any waves when he was dropped for Courtois.

Fact......He is a true gentleman and superb professional.

But

Fact.....He lost his place because we now have a better keeper.

Fact.....He wont get game time with us next season either.

Fact.....He's a good keeper, but he wont win Arsenal a Premiership title.(Because the rest of that team is crap)

Fact.....He's getting on, his family is settled and he doesn't want to uproot them. And Arsenal being the second best team in London were the only team to bid.

Fact....This was a family decision and not really a football one. He will be well paid, play top grade football and see out his remaining football career incomfort.

Fact....He will never get another big transfer payday

Fact....Although not good enough for a starting place at Chelsea, he will significantly improve Arsenal........but not enough to overtake us.

So.......My verdict is that although I am a bit sad to see him go, I will wish him all the best in the twilight years of his career. But for Chelsea it is onwards and upwards, and if you're not good enough to play regulary and want first team football, well them perhaps it's right to sign for a lesser side than us, to secure that for yourself.

Good luck Petr, we will miss you, But the time is right for the parting of the waves.

Cech is classy man and he pushed for this due to family reasons. Family comes first, everything else comes second. I would choose my family over the club 100%.

Cech just need a game time in any club and his place in NT won't even bothered. He could choose any London club and still get a called up, decent wage, etc. He should know Arsenal won't go far in CL either. So it means only one thing, the same reason why Frank joining City. I can't see it being a case of wanting to stop us.Arsenal more likely to win trophies which every player wants to do and challenge for the league etc.likes of spurs,West ham etc won't so makes sense.

Rightly or wrongly he will have put a little dent in his legacy, even subconsciously in some cases.

Ask Chelsea fans next season who's their favourite out off Drogba, Cech and Lamps and it will be interesting to see who would have formally said one of the latter two changes to Didier without even thinking.
