LDN Blue 7,903
I think it's pretty obvious what's happened here. Instructions have been passed to Stones' respresentitives from CFC to hand in a transfer request so that's in Chelsea's own interest to put the bid in. It's well documented that Chelsea have been looking for Stones to make some sort of indication he's in favour of the move.
Special Juan 28,141
I think Everton will now tell us the price Stones can leave for. Probably 40M.Everton are in a really difficult predicament now and need to be careful. They now have a player who wants out, they have a team offering huge amounts, and I mean huge amounts that can allow them to pursue players that they actually need, they have bought nobody this transfer window. Pizy 18,897
Exactly what I'm concerned about and what I think will happen. Then United swoop in and pull a Pedro to get revenge and appease their fans.
Polo7 3,496
Lost cause. Just move on to another target. Wasting our time on this. Everton are worse than Tottenham.

If they reject £40m on the table, when they're hardly owned by a oligarch, with a serious lack of investment already occuring, then they're going to face serious ramifications.United won't swoop in because they've already demonstrated how cheap they are on the Pedro deal and Stones has seen how aggressive Chelsea have been in trying to sign him. It would be a statement signing for them and "get one over" on a rival.Wouldn't put it past them at least trying by matching whatever we bid for him. Madmax 9,219
Let's be honest - live in London, play under Mourinho and take over from Terry or live in Manchester, listen to pig face and babysit Smalling. Hmm, tough choice.
It's too big 625
I don't know what Stones will decide to do, but considering we've been the ones linked to him all transfer window, it would seem odd for him to hand in a transfer request and then move to Man Utd. I guess we will see.

They've been reluctant to enter a bidding war with anyone as it is & because of Van Gaal they're missing out on more and more signings. All it'll take is the infamous 'phone call' from Mourinho and Stones will arrive.

If United really wanted him, they would have registered their interest and submitted their bid for him by now. The fact that they haven't done so means they aren't really interested in getting him. If they do, it would feel like a smack of desperation at this point.

mannyfreshh 164
Since stone has asked for a transfer that means he and chelsea have already agreed on a deal. It's only a matter of time before the transfer becomes official. Welcome to Chelsea mr. John stones
Duppy Conqueror 1,533
Everton linked with Tottenham CB Federico Fazio now..for what it`s worth. has looked and continues to look like they are preparing to lose him.
MrBlueGuy 1,552
Doubt they would reject his request or they would have done so the moment it was handed in, didn't West Brom reject Berahino's request straight away? Even if they do reject it Liverpool did with Torres as well in 2011 and countless other teams also do but usually once a player hand in a request he is most likely off. The very worst thing that could happen now is Everton decide to be unreasonable dicks and try to make us pay 40-50m which I doubt we would and thus prolong this until the deadline day where we might not be able to complete the deal in time.Still I think we will get him, deal probably will be done for around 35m, maybe 40m with add-ons but can't see it go any higher than this. Duppy Conqueror 1,533
be resolved in the next few days.they will sell him..they are quite skint by premiership standards.not in a position to turn down 30m plus offer for a player who has publicly declared he wants to leave even tho they are legally within their rights to do so.they`ll get 4 players of second tier standard for what we are offering and continue to dwell in mediocrity..Martinez may be more ambitious but Kenwright knows he is just trying to keep them in the premier league whilst balancing the books until somebody with the financial clout to help them compete for honours again will buy him out.it`s funny but Martinez has been coach/manager for 3 teams who all have the same kind of owners..good people but millionaires instead of the billionaires required.tho Swansea, his first club have managed to grow and re-invest their money to become a bigger player in the transfer market.
