I watched him last season with Leverkusen, and he was very very inconsistent in front of goal! he had the most shots in the bundesliga last season and only scored 11 goals! and he had the most shots off target!!! he had a 9% conversion rate in a weaker league! so no i am not 100% sure that his finishing is any better then Torres, Eto'o and Ba Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sidzeret 2,257 Posted December 22, 2013 Share Posted December 22, 2013 we effectively anyways dont play with a target man. torres, ba and etoo are pathetic target men and simply hopeless goal threat. schurrle on the other hand is a wonderfully direct player, great long shots, good movement. i simply cant see what we would be losing by putting schurrle up top compared to those 3.Not to mention our best option if we go for all out counter attack. He's a better finisher than Torres and an overall better player than Ba.Eto'o is the only one who could challenge that, but too many unknowns.
