Meanwhile, we've still got a season with Adidas left. The ladies debuted the new kit today. Like I figured, from a distance, you can't see the lions and it actually looks decent.

Fair enough but we go on so much about 'big clubs' and what the benchmark ought to be, some fans do take interest in that. And yes the football side is clearly the most important thing, but there's more to a football club than that now. Associating with just giants in their own respective industries only does well to represent the Chelsea brand globally. The bigger we want to become, and thus keep achieving better by enticing world-class players, the more we want our reputation to enhance.

I know all the positives and whatnot behind it. I'm a selfish man, I'd rather look at a nice kit from Umbro or Le Coq other a template from Nike cuz that is what a club gets from 'em.

That's fair too and of course we shouldn't be taken for mugs either, which is why breaking our contract early with Adidas isn't an issue most fans will be cursing. After this disaster of a kit with a lack of any real PR is simply embarrassing when you're meant to be one of your brand's highest rated teams. Albeit we're only really behind United & Bayern in their standings, which is a byproduct of them being far more established than we've been.

I thought the kit looks good on the players. The lion prints are subtle, nice blue, white collar and love the 3 stripes down the side, very streamlined.

I can't believe some people think the board just terminated Adidas deal because they were upset with the money are now are in the market demanding more. That just doesn't make any sense. Its obvious we received a huge offer from another brand.

Strangely no inside info this time, can't wait to reveal the new sponsor. I quite like Under Armor personally, not to mention the bonus to piss of Spuds.

How much do we have to payout Adidas now that we have voided the contract?

I feel Under Armour may be the path we will go as Chelsea have a large fan base in North America.

the path to go is to the kit manufacture who has offered the best deal for us to part company with Adidas

It looks as if the club tried to renegotiate with Adidas once the fantastic shirt sales figures were coming in and an offer from another manufacture in the offing, but Adidas not willing to play or pay

with over 3m shirts allegedly sold last season and the kit manufacture getting between £12-£15 profit per shirt, we are a good brand to be associated with.

The shirts sold covers the sponsership deal with ease...........then there is all the branded sports and fashion clothing on top of that which allegedly have higher percentage profitability returns for the manufacture.

No wonder, another kit deal was always going to be hanging around with those sort of figures.

 

P.S. Chelsea only get sponsorship money and profits from shirts/fashion/sportswear sold on their website or club shop
