I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but even if Ba doesn't score, his runs and pulling away defenders and holding on to the ball is just so much better what torres does. Even though a relatively quiet game for Ba, it still felt like we had 11 men out there, which I never seem to feel for torres. The goals Torres has this season all seemed to be either luck or served on a platter. Ba is a good (but not exceptional) striker that has shown just how bad Torres really is. The sooner the Chelsea administration can swallow their pride and admit "we made a horrible mistake" the better, so we can finally sell Torres at a huge loss just to get him off our payroll. Then we could sign up and coming young striker to back up Ba and another decent cheap third striker as a backup, just on Torres's wages alone.

I've backed Torres for so long, and have kept getting my hopes up, even thought maybe Benitez could maybe do it, but he's used up all my patience. Even if he volunteered to play for no wages, I'd just rather not have his awful attitude on the squad.

i remember a move when torres had just come on, mata had the ball on the left wing and was looking to cross it. torres and hazard were the only 2 people in the box with shawcross (i think) covering torres while huth and wilkinson near hazard. mata played a long ball to hazard on the edge of the box instead of just crossing it to the blonde whore for a chance. just shows how much trust our players have in torres. plus if evrybody noticed, with BA we are far more direct, we put balls in the box irrespective of the result (i dont think BA won a single header in the box today against shawcross) but yet it gives us that X-factor when, while when torres came on, we simply fell back to our "nothing" game.

Yeah that has happened quite a few times this season, and I can't really understand why RDM/Benitez haven't rectified it. Granted its Torres that's receiving and he'll most likely squander the chance, but its better than nothing. Like you said, its probably the case of players not trusting him but these guys are supposed to be professionals.

According to Wilkins, Carlo was asked in summer 2010 what forward he wanted and he said Torres. We were close to signing him for £35m that summer (bookies suspended betting on it at one point) until he signed a new deal which looked like we would never get him, then 6 months on ......

That january window whn we bought Torres was the time when i lost my respect for Carlo. We could clearly we that we had huge problems in the midfield and with creativity and what do we get... a striker that cant perform without creativity and a center back. And that for a total of +70m.
