If Torres makes it again, it is official, Del bosque either has a soft spot for him or Torres has a mighty lobby. No sane coach would rather take Torres instead of Negredo, Llorento and Navas only for footballing reasons. All three offer something different and are better players. He is a weird player, for some reason all the managers seem to feel sorry for him despite him being crap. Yesterday for example he missed an open 1 on 1, scored a pen and afterward Del Bosque praised+included him in the final squad. Same with Jose, after criticizing him after that Palace game, he was picked again a couple of weeks later. At this point his transfer fee doesn't matter anymore, and I doubt it is his reputation either. He must work extremely hard in training, even though his body cannot take it anymore.

Hope he has a great World Cup for two reasons.

1- Another club will see that he's still got plenty to offer and want to buy him.

2- If he does have to stay here then maybe having a good tournament will give him renewed confidence and he can be our 3rd striker.
